so I'm interested in surge, the soda from the 90's (just paid 15 dollars for some syrup on ebay to make 12 oz of the stuff from 13 years ago....anyway I was looking up commercials from back in the day and bout had a heart attack when I seen this (being a barracuda owner) haha just figured I'd share

Tasted like Squirt with a hint of orange, if memory serves correctly. Funny that you found that, the other way around. I would have assumed you'd have found it looking for a car commercial with your car in it. hahaha...
 
Living in Denver my entire life, I was subject to all kinds of awkward test market stuff.

Favorite soda to date, was in and out like Surge, circa 1995;

Best recreation of that stuff is a basic suicide, but it goes something like

1= Cherry : 1= Dr.Pepper : 1= Orange

That blue barracuda was used a few ads and movies. Jay Leno used it in a fake car chase where the car goes off a cliff.

IIRC, it was used in a Joe Piesci film.

Car might be still in some movie car rental companies inventory.
 
I LOVED Surge! it was the only soft drink that I would choose over Mountain Dew from 7-11.
 
Wasn't the kid in the passenger seat the same one that played the catcher in "The Sandlot"? You know, the one that said, "You play ball like a GIRL!!!"
