i just picked up my first A body This week and did a bunch of reading as a guest. I figure I have already saved enough cash by listening to all the different threads to splurge and go gold! I have always been Mopar and my track car is a nasty 73 Cuda Sublime of course! I also run a 15 Scat Pack in Sublime as well! And you guessed it dragging it all to the track is a Sublime 2500 Ram! Heck even my Harley is Sublime. Family says I have a problem. Sincere thanks to all the tech guys as I have learned a bunch. While the differences between the A body and the E body are subtle they are in fact different. I am building the 72 Demon to be a snappy reliable street car. The Cuda has a spooled 433 rear end and cell only holds a splash of gas. I want to build something I can jump in and drive 100 miles and not worry about anything. While the new Scat pack can easily do that as I have driven it literally across the country it just doesn't say cool like a Demon! This is easily the best most focused forum out there for A bodies. Not sure who to thank but thanks.
And PS to the "retarded" Marine Semperfi 2nd Marines! our whole family is military including my wife etc. I was the only one dumb enough to go Marines!

Don't know how far you are from Fargo but there is a large cruise night event in the summer here it is well attended 1,000 cars maybe? Maybe I will see you there come summer. I still got two feet of snow in yard today!

Yea good old North Dakota. I have two boys that live in Fargo and go there lots. I would love to go to the car shows there, was planing on going this year for the first time. my car is no top notch but enjoy it. Yea I hope to see you there. Do you ever go to Devils Lake car show?

Welcome Sublime!! Nice quartet of Mopars you got going! Post up some pics so we can drool.

I have never been to the DL car show but it is on my to do list for the summer. My Cuda can't make it that far and rolling over with a modern car just isn't right! That is why I am starting the Demon build.

I have taken my Cuda to the show in Fargo a couple of times but it is sketchy for me as it is a true track car. No lights horns or even a semblance of a grill! All fiberglass front rollbar etc. you chirp tires and the law is on you. Hard to go anywhere with a spooled 433 rear and not chirp! If your boys went to the cruise I parked by the funeral home and we kind of started a Mopar lot. It looks funny parked amongst all those beautiful show cars, I just unstrap, toss the steering wheel on the dash and let folks see that there is whole other side to the show cars. Mine was the Sublime one parked next to a blue 68 drag car charger.

I have been working this winter on making it more streetable I now have headlights! Trying to sort out grill next but got window trim added this winter as well.

I am going to stay with the 360 in the Demon vs my instincts to toss in a stroked 440. I want to drive the heck out of it, not worry about overheating, gas stations etc. I would have to stop 4 times for gas to get to DL from a Fargo in the Cuda!look forward to meeting you this summer.

Hey Sublime one, would love to see the cuda as well as your other projects. My scamp is pretty much stock running a little nitros with 410 gears 904 auto with a gear vendor overdrive never been restored yet but planing on retiring this fall and getting started on it. Been a body man all my life and not much knowing about the drive train, but thanks to all the guys on this forum I'm learning. And I will be at the car show there this summer as soon as I find out the times. I have never put my car in the Devils run car show. just go there to check out the other cars, and put my car on the dyno. If you go there let me know I'll meet up with you.

I am still learning how to navigate the site. I can send you my contact info if you like, just not sure how to do it discreetly!

Welcome to the site and to A-body cars. I am up in Devils Lake, but get down to Fargo and Top End a few times a year. Will say hello if I see one of your cars. (Hard to miss em) I race the red Duster at Minot too.

Woo Hoo DL is not far my goal is to get the Demon ready for at least one pass at top end this year provided Charlie doesn't sell it. Last I heard no one is even sniffing due to his asking price of 1.2 million! Was at top end several times last year and tried repeatedly to ask and get permission to do a photo of the cuda and Challenger line up for a photo op but Charlie was opposed. I even tried to rent track on non race day no track prep no lights tower etc just stage cars for photo and he declined. Sure would have been easy money for him. You go racing in Minot and need a extra "pit" guy I can be easily bought for beer! I have not been to that track yet. Jamestown has their annual race at the airport and I am pre registered for it already, just trying to support their drive to build a strip there. If you come to cruise night in Fargo we have been parking at the funeral home trying to start a Mopar lot if you will. My Cuda looks funny lined up with all the beautiful show cars but I don't care, gives folks a chance to see the other side of the hobby. I unstrap, toss the steering wheel on the dash and let em all ask why don't you have any headlights! Hah! It is spooky getting in and out with the spooled 433 rear since the officials swarm on any tire chirping. I wait till coast is clear and idle away while it is still light! Track cars in town not always greeted warmly. But they are actually pretty cool about it provided you don't act like an idiot. It is a huge revenue generator. Not sure how many cars attend but it is a bunch they always toss around the 800- 1,000 number but that seems like a lot. Sorry this got windy
