La fan blade bolt threads fine???

As a last resort that thought crossed my mind earlier . Now that I have fine thread bolts ordered I'm good now.

He has the correct factory size. It's 5/16 fine thread. If he did it your way, he'd be modifying it from factory.
 
He'd be modifying the holes in the pump hub, which chances are, isn't factory to begin with. With that argument, any repair you make would be a non-factory modification.

The pump hub comes with fine threads.
 
I'm pretty sure all A and LA engine water pump hubs have 5/16x18 threads.......
 
The bolts i pulled off the pump originally were coarse thread. I don't know why or how. I wasn't sure if the old pump or the new one(painted to match the motor) was correct. The motor is a 360 and obviously isn't original to my 64. I believe the block date was 1979. As I stated before the bolts needed are ordered and yes they are 5/16×2 3/4 fine thread. Thanks
