LA versus Gen 3 race

It's a completely different experience being in the passenger's seat as opposed to the driver's seat in a fast car.

My son in law has ridden in the Dart one time, for some reason I can't get him back in the car. I guess not everyone is cut out for it. LOL

I don’t like being a passenger at all to be honest if someone is trying to give me a thrill ride.

I was in my sons car on the warm-up road and he stopped and jumped on it. It was only a low 10 second car and I said let me the heck out of here.

I agree. With my son in law all I did was roll into it pretty hard in low gear, then pulled it into second and let off. With the wife it was a long hairy burn out leaving a Sunday school class get together at a friend's house on a very wide low traffic street. It did get crossed up, but I could still see the general direction I was wanting to go through the windshield. LOL

I've considered selling my car a few times over the years and I've always told potential buyers there will be no thrill rides and you don't drive it, unless I have the full cash amount in my hands before you close the door.

Definitely smart, I don’t like giving people rides anymore in the Barracuda to be honest because it’s a bit hairy on a regular city street when you give them the ride they thought they wanted, LOL, I about lost it actually one of the last times with a friend that helps me on it and had to get on the brakes as we were heading towards the median .

Personally being a engine machinist Im not a fan of the gen 3, it has such a small bore, the block is extremely heavy compared an la, it's a ***** to torque the main caps lol. It sucks to load up under the boring bar .
But I will say is stock hemi vs stock LA
Block, hemi is much stronger
Heads, well they're hemi enough said.
Rotating assembly, new hemi much better.
But again personally I like the simplicity of the LA. I don't know anything about the W heads or R blocks to comment about it, however I know they're fast. If I was going to build a hemi though I'd make it simple, big tall tunnel ram, carbureted and high compression. The block is start with would be the truck specific 6.4 hemi.
I prefer low deck big blocks over both though.

There's plenty of quick GIIIs out there. They've been running in the sixes for years. Probably very few street legal ones because real badasses don't build race cars for the street. And they don't race for $500. That was a decent purse for a street race 40 years ago.
Good luck, I hope you find a taker. It would be fun to see. If you increase the bet by a factor of ten, I think there would be a decent chance you'd get a race.
You talking 6s in the 1/4 ?

you guys see many mid 6 second street driven cars in your part of the country? I sure don’t in north Texas…..
yes I know a supercharged Hemi in a dart should be capable of much quicker times…….
Ummmm yeah they are all over the place, lol, heck even that turd engine with out of the box Indy T/A heads, Super Victor intake, pump gas 415" I ran in the Barracuda the first year ran a best of 6.68 and from my observation the slowest so called hot rods on the road all have 1 thing in common......MODERN ENGINES......

There are several supercharged Mustangs here that run low 6's and several that get into the 5's. These cars are daily drivers for the most part.

In the quarter ?
Even in the 1/8 th that's still cruzin

I personally love the Gen3’s and what they have done for me. Because of them I’ve picked up some “rock bottom” blue light special pricing on LOTS of LA stuff.

I wouldn't mind replacing one of my magnum trucks with a hemi...I'll give the magnum stuff to John lol

I’ll take it. I haven’t built a Magnum yet and this would be a great opportunity to see what I could do with a set of magnum heads. My fingers kinda liked what they felt the one and only times I’ve probed a set.

I'd be interested in seeing what you'd get out of them.

I’m shocked I’ve never stumbled onto a set of magnum heads with all of the parts I’ve bought over the years. Even 99% of the LA engines I’ve bought were only blocks and a crank here and there.

If you were on the other side of PA I'd drop you off a set on my way to S&W.
