There's not a lot of room so I know the options are limited. Trying to get an idea of rear coilover shock length on a '73 Dart with ladder bars and stock frame. Anybody running a similar set up?
I have no idea but, I like where you're going! There's not a lot of room so I know the options are limited. Trying to get an idea of rear coilover shock length on a '73 Dart with ladder bars and stock frame. Anybody running a similar set up?
I recently installed a Moser fab 8.75 with a backbrace, Dr. Diff offset front hangers, and Mopar SS springs. I moved the rear back an inch to get a bit more tire clearance, but with the backbrace, the stock shock mounting location wouldn't work. I was in the process of fabbing up a new mount in front of the axle when......, my buddy "talks me into" putting ladder bars on. Pictures of wheels up launches danced in my head, but......there's not a lot of room behind the axle for a coilover upper mount. Even less when you move it back an inch,.......and have a backbrace. Looking at the Summit Racing double adjustable coilovers - about a 10" compressed/14" extended may work but a little input from someone who has chartered these waters would save this poor guy with 10 second dreams a little heartache.....and $!I have no idea but, I like where you're going!
The 10-second dream is obtainable, but it's expensive to keep it there.I recently installed a Moser fab 8.75 with a backbrace, Dr. Diff offset front hangers, and Mopar SS springs. I don't have to live there, but a visit would be nice. The 10-second dream is obtainable, but it's expensive to keep it there.
I also enjoy fishing. A 7.4 pound Largemouth Bass is my personal best. A 10 pounder is my goal/dream. Don't have to catch them every time I fish, but you can bet I'm always trying!I don't have to live there, but a visit would be nice.

Thank you. I was looking at the Summit Racing unbranded ones and thought a 10" compressed, 14" extended would be close. Nice to know someone has done it. Thank you for replying!I have these on all 3 cars..they are relabeled Qa1 shocks...
JEGS Performance Products 64905: Double Adjustable Coil-Over Front or Rear Shock Compressed Height: 11-5/8" | JEGS
I use adjustable mounts on the lower mounts...also use 110 lbs springs......you will need to weld new upper shock support tube across the frame rails.....

With the backbrace and 1" setback, my upper mount will be farther back - lower on the frame. Hoping the shorter shock will work.I ran a ladder/leaf setup on my 74 Swinger. I also moved the spring back one inch for clearance. A little different from coil over, but, I hole sawed holes in the trunk floor and flipped the upper shock mounts end for end.
When you put the Moser fab w/ brace, did the upper mounts and coilover setup still work or did you have to relocate it/ change coilovers?you can get a ladder bar mount that has a shock mount on the back of it....
Why the Dana - what was up with the Moser Fab 8.75?When you put the Moser fab w/ brace, did the upper mounts and coilover setup still work or did you have to relocate it/ change coilovers?
I purchased the Comp Engineering lower mount that is notched for the brace. Did you use the same Jegs coilovers or did you need shorter ones? Any pics with the fab 8.75?we had to move the upper support back to line up moser. Chassis Engr makes a different bracket that fits a rear with a brace on it....
dana 60 cause sooner or later the ring and pinion on a 8 3/4 will eat the teeth,,,,,just had two 8 3/4 pumpkins repaired with new ring and pinions from the other cars...they got a dana also...
that duster is scheduled to have the 360 removed and a 408 installed...plus it leaved on a transbrake....
now if the dana 60 only looked like Dana Delany......i would be hugging that rear forever....lol
What length ladder bars do you use - did you use a track locator - what length? Sorry for all the ?'s - just getting as much info as possible. Thank you. Any pics too would be great!we had to move the upper support back to line up moser. Chassis Engr makes a different bracket that fits a rear with a brace on it....
