I agree but hate to see them come down for the first time. Snow is rain with a hard-onSorry Mark I guess it's your turn for some flakes.
You got hit hard last week didn't you? This is your rewardBeen a nice day here, very little wind, and currently 48*F.
UPDATE... their power came on at 2:30 last night. 53.5 hours total without heat.Morning everyone. I heard from my daughter's friends last night and they said they won't get any power back on till around 6pm today. That's over 48 hrs without heat in this weather. I wish I had a generator I could have loaned them. That's one of the drawbacks living in the country.
Hope you all have a great day.
Do you have a generator?UPDATE... their power came on at 2:30 last night. 53.5 hours total without heat.
About the same here I think I have a total of 16 hours on mine after 5 years having one.Do you have a generator?
I bought one last year
Got it all wired up and stuff...haven't had a single power outage since
Go figure... you spend the money out for a generator and now haven't used it. But it's there if needed. No I don't have one but we have a source of heat (gas fireplace) and we have two oil lamps and have used those a couple of times during a blackout and is a source of heat as well. We don't realize on how dependent we are on hydro until we don't have it.Do you have a generator?

Same as the Amish Fred. My son's neighbours are Amish and he just built a beautiful home and has it wired for hydro but doesn't use it. He does have a cell phone though because of his 3 businesses. He has milk cattle, builds sheds and does aluminum siding and eaves. Geez this guy works hard and even shoes his own horses. They have 6 kids and will probably increase in the future. Lovely people though and Chris gets to hunt on his land and they share the meat. The group bagged 3 deer this season.Lived 5 years without hydro but now I think I would have a real hard time without it now.
Use to deliver feed in my semi to the Amish and hittorites {or however you spell it} Yea good people and some colonies made there own wine and they do a great job. lolSame as the Amish Fred.
