Got deck floor done, took wife for dinner in the Dart, ate way to much food, had a few drinks when we got home, fell asleep on couch. Just woke up poured another one, looking at the stars off my deck wondering how can it get any better than this

Well, two of the five wheels that I have been refinishing for the Ventura turned out pretty well. The other three, not so much, the masking kit peeled the paint off of the spoke areas. Disappointing for sure, but the instructions did warn of that possibility, maybe the heat of the last two days, not sure. I will try to touch them up with a brush, unless I can convince my wife to take a shot at it, she's far more skilled than I am with a paint brush.
I really do love the look, it's what I have wanted for this car since we bought it.

Now I just have to get the new rear main seal installed, (it kicked my *** good on Wednesday), service the transmission and put it all back together.
Oh, and I need some tires too.
Nice wheels Randy makes the car look even better.

Been a lovely day today and nice breeze. Wife is in her glory out in the garden.
Will get her some Swiss Chalet for supper.
Went out to the car show last night and had a great turnout.
Got there at 5 and came home at 7.
Have a great evening

Is that a Mustang II behind it. My 1st car and brings back good memories being mine was a hatchback.

No, it's another Hornet Hatchback that's in nicer shape than the tan one.

I bought the tan one off of a mountain top in Western North Carolina and the red one came from Alabama.

Here's some photos from the N.C. Craigslist ad for the tan one.

When I got back to Indiana I stopped at a carwash and gave it a good bath. Then stopped by a friends house. I was amazed how nice it was.

Looks to be in really good shape Tom.

It would have been in perfect shape had it not had factory stainless steel rocker trim covers. It allowed dirty and moisture to eat some holes in it, but those are easy to repair.

Nice and a good solid project.

Elevated garden boxes I built for my mom, finished about 2 weeks ago.

Finished these ones yesterday for my wife. She sanded all the wood on all 4 of them, then applied a water seal to help preserve them. Each one is made from 4 used pallets.

They are lined with a layer of canvas to retain the moisture, and a layer of weed control fabric, then filled with gardening soil and compost.
