Yup but you have a brand new one coming up and it will grow fast with that major root system under it. Your beautiful maple will be back in no time.

I plan on hibernating when the temps drop to 40 below. I got my stuffed teddy bear and my favorite blanket ready for that. :lol:

Neighbor lady came over and gave me crap for cutting it down, she said she loved to see the change in color of the leaves in the fall.

Weird thing is I had one on the other side of the property, that also started to get rotted, got taken out about 5 years ago, they were both about the same size.
It would drop all its leaves, the other one would not drop any leaves until it was bare. Never seen that before.

My house is slab on grade. With a crawl space high enough to roll around on an office chair. Before I back filled I put 4” of styrofoam SM 4’ from top of slab all around the house.
Then backfilled on top. House hasn’t moved yet. Touch wood.

Noticed the same thing with some of the poplar trees. Most of them died within 2 seasons

Aaah yes remember it well, wing tipped platforms,steel blue leisure suit, flowered nylon shirt, neckerchief, hair on my shoulders, cheesy stash, sideburns. Can’t believe I actually went out in public like that. But we had fun and nobody died

Well I watched a video of how to install the vinyl top that came in today. Looks like I need to get mineral spirits to clean up after install so I guess it will wait till tomorrow to install

Not hard to do but make sure you have rubber gloves on and keep from getting your fingers in the glue.
