Late 60's/early 70's look

From around 80 or so. Airshocks, chrome traction bars (are they far enough from the leaf? lol), complete with fur on the dash...helped to cover those cracks. I eventually redid the striping and ditched the wider tires because they got sliced up when the shocks lost air, or had more than 2 people in the car...

Side pipes, (I like that idea, they still sell those?)

My new sidepipes are under my bed in the box. The day I get to slap them on (probably 2 months away) will be the happiest day of my life outside of the births of my kids!! :-D

Where did you get them?
Are they specific to your car?
Can you use headers with them?
Thanks, Matt.

Yeah you missed a couple things. It needs to be lifted at all fours. No problem with a torsion front end. and you will need and 8-track player. I am considering a modified version of this for my dart. I like the raised front and rear end, wide tires, and traction bar look. But probably a stock interior.

No chain steering wheel please. Hi-Jacker air shocks. HD towing leafs/coils were another option. Aluminum slots, Cragar SS's or Torque Thrust wheels. 8-track player is a neccesity. I totalled my '75 Mach I listening to Steppenwolf, lol! That's a story for another post.

Anyway, chrome 3 spoke steering wheel, about 13". White letter tires. Roach clip with feathers hanging from the rear view mirror. Rust hole in the rear floor to drop your beer cans through. Hi-Jackers rabbit stickers in the rear quarter windows. No tint on any window. Fog lights behind the grill, preferably amber.

Did I miss anything, lol!

Rust hole in the rear floor to drop your beer cans through is funny because it is true, I forgot we actually used to do that.

I grew up in the rust belt (Chi-town). I lost my hand made toolbox W/tools right through the trunk. Rust never sleeps. :-D

I got them from a guy that one of my friends has dealt with on other stuff. I know that he also sells through ebag so I can get you the info if you want. For sure you can use them with headers! And they arent car specific other than choosing the length you want. I know I spent more than what I would have on other brands like Patriots, but these have aluminized tubes so that you dont see black through the covers and are "supposed" to hold up better to tarnishing and rust.

Please get me the info.
I have my 'original' fuzzy dice sitting in my office at home. I think its time to get them back on a rearview mirror.
I can't believe how much I forgot about, I even went through all of my old car magazines. Some of them have classified sections in the back, and I wondered what if I called a few of them to see if the cars were still for sale- for the same price!

and possibly the chain steering wheel.

Yeah, no chain wheel. That's strictly low-rider stuff. I have a small diameter Grant-style steering wheel, foam rubber ring with the chrome spokes with holes. That would be the ticket! I snagged the image off the 'net, but it's the same thing.

If you're interested, I'm happy to sell it to you pretty cheap. PM me.

Can't forget Mickey Thompson valve covers with the wing-nut style hold downs either. Got to have your super-sun tach on the steering column too. A trio of Stewart Warner gauges under the dash was always popular.

I know clear distributor caps were pretty popular for a while, I think they still make them for most V8's. The clear caps and plexiglass/acrylic hoods have recently become popular with the import crowd.....it's funny, they don't even know you could buy the same stuff for our cars out of the back of popular hot rodding in 1977!

Maybe it was a local thing, but back in the early '70s around NYC, if your car was set-up "right" (?) you had: the traditional "HI-Jacker" air shocks, gold anodized Moroso valve covers (with wing-nut bolts), Thrush, Cherry Bomb or " Purple Hornies" glasspacks, small lights in the wheelwells (why, I have no idea), L60-15 tires out back, 950cfm Holley, Tarantula manifold, Accel ignition, pinstriping by a guy named Vic Kessler and at least 1 "Connecting Highway Street Race Winner" decal in the 1/4 window.
Of course if you were a SERIOUS NYC streetracer the car was as much of a "sleeper" as you could possibly make it, you NEVER opened your hood & your races were always set-up for the early morning hours, usually at some obscure road.

...Roach clip with feathers hanging from the rear view mirror. ...
Lol. Forgot about that one. There was a guy in my town that had so many it looked like a dead raccoon hanging from his mirror. Don't forget the "foot" gas pedal and matching dimmer switch.

Yeah...I've got something similar for sale right now. But no one has even made an offer.....

must be REAL popular despite the VERY fashionable crossed flags and big "S" in the middle of the nonfunctional horn button

So, what size tires are these?
And, is that pinstripe paint or from Wheels?

I'd like to know how that pistol is gonna fire with the barrel in line with the CENTER of the cylinder

and I'm guessing those are N50's

I know, it is not Mopar, but the look is captured.
I like the pipes and hood.
