I recently bought a pair of fabricated valve covers for a BBC and one of them was warped so bad I couldn’t get the bolts started. It was like pulling teeth trying to get their customer service to respond and understand my complaint. I emailed, called, left messages, and texted all of their numbers. They tried like hell to get me to believe it was normal and I should crank em down till they sealed. Nope. I explained that wasn’t going to happen and would like my money back. They finally sent me a return label and I can send them back and get another pair. This whole scenario took over a month.
Good point. My heads are labeled as PCE (pro comp engineering) and purchased from speedmaster. For whatever that’s worth.Manufacturer? Retailer?
To be as advertised with the typical 2 angle valve job of the other heads they sell.Isn't that the company that sells most of their stuff that is made in China?
If so, what exactly did you expect?
Exactly.Yes it is. But a lot of their advertising says manufactured, cast, poured, whatever, in Australia. What I expect as well as others I’m guessing, is for a company to ADVERTISE exactly what the product is and hold up their end of the bargain when manufacturing mistakes are made. It’s simple customer service really.
Dude, a little more silicone and those would have sealed up fine.
A LONG time ago, I bought a flimsy looking timing light from Montgomery Wards. Id was SO dim, you could not use it. I went back to return it, and was told, "What did you expect for $5?". I said that I expected a timing light that worked as advertised on the package. I did have to argue a bit, but I got my refund. You may not remember, but several years ago, almost every company of lawn mower motor manufacturers got busted in a class action suit about false horse power claims. I think I got 8 dollars. lol The point is, something should be AS ADVERTISED if you buy it. If not, it's either a mistake, or someone is flimflammin some ****.
And all this "what did you expect" helps no one. As someone who contributes a lot around here, yall could lay off that **** with him. That ain't cool. I agree when he said he expected them to be as advertised and similar to other offerings from other companies. It's bullshit that they were not and more bullshit how he's gettin the run around.

The same people would be crying if they were sold some hokaspokas here by a member... yet they say "what did you expect" Too funny. To all sellers remember these people so when they cry you can say hey what do you expect I'm not a high-dollar vender like summit. ..I'm a nobody. BFH!Hell just throw um on the floor and stomp on um. Straighten um right out. lol
60 day policy. I asked for 2 sets of valves as compensation to make it worth while, nope.Won't they take them back?

Advertised intake port 179ccSo....refresh my memory. WHAT did the ports cc? And what were they advertised?
Speed master what? Aluminum, mag iron?We just flowed an untouched set of SM’s. @lead69 has the flow numbers. They were pretty much what SM said they would be OOTB.
Advertised intake port 179cc
Actual 150cc
29cc's is missing
They'd be around 4cc bigger with a 2.02 bowl done up-thats ontop of what's in it with the 1.94 I did on mine.. Need 15cc more. Ha nope. That's a lot. Just askin.....I know you shouldn't have to but can you make that up porting? Even if you can, if they were the right size to begin with, you could make them even bigger.

Ootb speed master aluminum doesnt flow that good. The valve job is the main issue.
Speedmaster aluminum, and they didn't flow that well (in terms of a good head) but I'm used to it with eldebrocks lol. they did have a valve job and 2.05s and flowed mid 230's with untouched ports. With about 30 minutes of work the intake went to 254. Interesting thing is they were tested on two different benches in the exact same configuration. One showed 254 untouched and 270 with a little work and the other showed 233/254. I know which bench I'm going with.Speed master what? Aluminum, mag iron?
