Import magnesium? Is this type of paint or a color? What about the chrome part, around the edges? Are you sanding with 1000 or finer? How is the best way to strip everything to bare plastic? Thanks for the input.Sand smooth, prime and paint. use import magnesium and satin black paint for plastic.Taping off in stages as you repaint.
see above pictures in my post they were cleaned with the Original yellow cap easy off oven cleaner. no sanding involved just spray (cover with paper towel) wait for a while and scrub off, may take a couple of coats to even get rid of the crumbly chrome. then spray chrome and detail plus it leaves the part with a nice shint smooth surface for spray chroming. here's some that were cleaned and sprayed. How would you refinishing something like this?

total price was
200.00 spray chrome (if I see flaws or it peels he'll reshoot the chrome) the radio bezel didn't come out good when I taped it and he's reshooting that after i strip it back down. (with him using 2k paint for the base and clear easy off is struggling but it's working (slowly with many coats) to remove the stuff.
7.00 1 can of argent silver (really the wrong color but I liked it!)
5.95 1 can of satin black from krylon. matched the plastic glove box locking piece really close.
so for 213.00 plus 2 bucks tax on the 12.95 for paint and time I have a nice set of bezels.
Import magneium is a color ,any jober should carry in spray can.closest to oe i could find . use a course grit to remove, then wet sand smooth.primer then sand again to fill.just need to mask off paint in stages.my chrome was gone so i just painted
