and rusty it is..... i have a 66 plymouth valiant signet convertible which is 90% original and mechanically is strong, but was born in new york so the underbody is.... well.... missing chunks..... thanks for having a site with so much info and i look forward to adding my 2cents every now and again.... i do have a quick question before i get elbow deep in this thing (because i REALLY love the style of this car and want to save it for me).... since the 66 has unique body lines, are the floor pan/trunk pan/fender splash area/ frame rail metal areas the same as the coupe or will i be doing a LOT of fabrication??? thanks for any info on this and any you can provide in the future! i can't wait to get started (and get a lot poorer in the process :violent1: )

welcome
i have a 65 convertible that had a lot of rust
the floors hood fenders and trunk lid and trunk floor are the same as any 2 door car.
the doors are the same as baracuda and 2 door hardtop doors.
i actually have a 66 barracuda drivers door on my 65 valiant convertible now getting ready for paint.
also i have a comeplete frontclip in the for sale section.
not much left of the car but frame rails, torsin bar cross member and front inner fenders are perfect. i am in south carolina so if you need this stuff let me know since you are not far away.
let me know what you may need because the car is going to the scrap man soon.

I'm in the process of welding a used floor into my 65 Dart Convertible. It's a 4 door floor and it fits perfect in the convertible. Same for the trunk floor. Rocker assemblies are different on a 4-door but the floor pan is the same.

I know in 65, Valiants have a shorter wheel base than Darts. Not sure about 66.
