Ok you got me i should dump my home built 727 and my 2,200 dollar 360 and go spend a but load on an Ls swap.
Yeah, you probably could've put together a better 5.3 setup and had overdrive for that much.

He has expressed the distaste for his setup by all the Mopar Elite in his area. But dumbfounded looks when they see his budget, and ability to blow their doors off.
This is his setup according to our conversation:
ls9 gaskets, arp headstuds, untouched 5.3 bottom end, Ljms st2 cam kit. À Vic jr intake, s475 turbo, 80 lb inj, turbo 400 with a brake, ford explorer 8.8 rear end with 31 spline axles and a Fbody oil pan.
All of which is good enough to get him to 1.2x 60 foots, and 9.50s at 14psi. He does have an alterkation front end though. But that is plenty fast enough for me.

Yea I talk to him regularly now, and he says he misses that 2JZ pretty bad. But he is still tearing things up in that LS Turbo swap.He had a toyota six in the mutt for a few years, I think he went 8's in that setup.
Annndddd you're also stuck in the past which has its place, but we all have our tastes, mine just isn't overspending on classic parts for less performance and driveability. I wanna drive and have fun with a with my car. I grew up learning fuel injection and love it, not carbs. Although I love the styling of classic cars, so I'm merging my 2 favorite things. I appreciate all makes and models as long as true enthusiasts are operating them, however you seem to not, and are the prime example of the reason why so many share a distaste for the Mopar community. I however will continue with my project, as you continue with yours. Take care.I'd rather spend more money on mopar stuff.
I'm doing one for mine just to share the information and lessons learned with the entire of FABO. That way everyone else has the information to do the same to their own Mopar if they choose. As you could see throughout this thread, many of FABO wanted to see it completed. This IS the very reason I will not be,doing a build thread on my car. Damn shame folks just can't say, to themselves, not my idea of a good time...and move on...
I know they did. Just have 0 patience for the chest thumping faithful. If I can figure out how to build a web site, I use Ipage for an email server, I may go that route. To me it is extremely disrespectful to muck up some ones build thread just because they don't like it. I don't like the odd colors...the generic butt stripes and various other things that the purists use...but you don't see me being disrespectful and talking sh.t on their threads...I'm doing one for mine just to share the information and lessons learned with the entire of FABO. I've watched this thread from the beginning and gotta say it's really a **** show. There's enough chest thumping on both sides of the fence. I've been doing LS swaps since they were introduced. It's a great engine and has good potential. It's not for everyone and that's cool, I'm sure the Ford guys didn't like seeing the 392 Hemi swapped into the old Dueces and 40 business coupes. Whatever. I am done with this thread, though. I wish you all luck.I know they did. Just have 0 patience for the chest thumping faithful. Sorta my point...the chest thumpers...on both sides...muck these threads up. Sorta like a child throwing a tantrum because they don't like something...Even "back in the day" I did my best to refrain from the Ford vs Chevy vs Slowpar crap...each has their strong points...and weak ones. Pretty simple to accept that. In my case my car was a lowly slant three on the tree...makes a ton of sense to pour endless amounts of $$ into THAT combination. Poly is not crap and it's completely unique unlike cookie cutter Ls swap's.
wow...this went to hell...again. I *was* interested...decent chance the mods will either heavily edit this one (like they did a couple years ago) or just shitcan it altogether. So much for watching someone actually do some stuff with a car and not read two pages of utter bullshit banter.
It would be nice to have a LS Swap thread with technical stuff, but that is a hard sell on a Mopar board. There are some good LS swap threads on the "pro touring" and "Lateral-G" sites.
LS swaps are easy. Plus you get more power if you go 6.2,better mpg and much better handling. A better mopar!!! It could be an ORIGINAL mopar 440 source Chinese engine....Ok you got me i should dump my home built 727 and my 2,200 dollar 360 and go spend a but load on an Ls swap.
I could not possibly care less what this guy swaps into his Dart, it is his car and I hope he enjoys it. Great to see the car on the road. LS swaps are practical just not inspiring or cool. They are boring. And they are ugly. And, like everything else in this thread - that is my opinion. Being unique and cool is not always practical, but that is part of what makes it unique and cool.
LS in a 67 numbers matching cuda. Again 6.2 makes more power, plus aluminum engine handles better, much better mpg, parts availability and support is Much better. Not for everyone, but more practical for a driver. If you go carb, it's very easy. Been there, done it.I'm more on the line of your way of thinking. It's his car, his money, he can do what he wants with it. But, I also think an LS engine is boring. Don't get me wrong, if I had a Nova, I'd probably go that route, but not really a Mopar. The reason why I think it's boring is because it doesn't really change the dynamic of the car all that much. It's still a V8 which they offered in an A-body anyway. Sure, if it's turbo'ed it'll be a tad cooler and different, but still, it will feel like any other turbo charged V8. So, to me, I don't really see the purpose of an LS swap in a Mopar or A-body. In the long run, I don't think it's all that cheaper and it require more modification because the LS platform was never intended for a Mopar and not many people do it. However, if LS engines is what you know it could be more beneficial.
Going back to changing the dynamics of a car, what I mean by that is putting an engine in a car it was not designed for. For instance, LS swap in a 240SX or RX7, totally cool. It has a completely different feel than a turbo 4 or a rotary. We've had members here who are/have done an SRT4 swap, 2JZ swap, and I think one successfully swapped in an RB25DET. I think that's cool. It's just different enough to peak my interest and, again, change the dynamics of the car.
I wasn't talking to you or Jerking your chain. Besides, when I do it won't be for you. What's matter? Jealous cause I'm right? Aluminum engine means great handling and great steering with a manual box as so many like. If admin didn't like it, they'd have gotten rid of this post long ago,,,,, So get over it.Shut your c*ck washers and start posting some pics. Car could have been done already. This crap is getting old.
Cant post pictures of the build because this is a hijacked thread...the OP hasn't been around in a very long time.start posting some pics. Car could have been done already. This crap is getting old.
Not awe inspiring.....neither is using a motor that was in how ever many a-bodies were built. Real thrilling to see 4 Darts, all with small blocks...with different valve covers...to each his own.I could not possibly care less what this guy swaps into his Dart, it is his car and I hope he enjoys it. Great to see the car on the road. LS swaps are practical just not inspiring or cool. They are boring. And they are ugly. And, like everything else in this thread - that is my opinion. Just goes to show how disrespectful many members of this site truly are....wow...this went to hell...again.
