you'd have to talk to him to understand... a whisp :D

well, he got me the answer I needed, so that's what I cared about.. LOL.

What are your plans for making it Hook? You going to tub it? Home made caltracs? That magnum motor would be fun with nitrous. Probably going to need the nitrous to go tens in the future anyway right?

Getting a truck to hook will be all new to me. I'm sure I'll make some sort of homemade traction device, and a good drag radial. No NOS, if I need it to go 10's I won't go 10's... LOL. May the truck land where it may.... The magnum is what we call the "pass-time-5.9". Something more fun than the 318 2bbl and help us learn/set the truck up for when the 440 is done

You guys may have already came across ”Beetlejuice” they’re out there making it happen. He’s got a few videos on it. Check it out small block on a 100 shot

yeah, I saw that one. I've been watching a lot of trucks on u-tube..LOL. mainly to see what I can see for traction devices and tires. See if I can't pirate a few ideas.. LOL

placed another order.... 1112 head gaskets for less cc's, I went with the Pro Product balancer just because I wanted one of these around for counter balance with any small block, and a tad longer push rods for the regrind cam.

i cant recall the exact name of it but there used to be a mopar performance kit for the rear axle.
they used it on the rod hall offroad trucks, but we used to put them on the cars as well.
it was an extra shock setup for the 70-s thru 80-s trucks and came with brackets and a shock for each side.
one end gets mounted to the frame and other to the axle.
it helps control the axle windup.
at some point Eberg had it on either the green brick or the duster and had a brief article on it.

or you could ladder bar it,using this simple kit which btw is dirt cheap, but uses heim joint ends.

or make up your own kit, using ideas like this setup which makes this claim
"By using rubber isolated ends we have eliminated the squeaking and binding that can be attributed to heim joint style ends"

I was looking at the Tuff country traction bars. I also have some ideas of my own. My goal is to keep the money in the drive train (440/converter) and try to build my own traction devices. Once I get the 5.9 in it, then we should have a traction issue and then we'll go to work on getting it to dead-bite.

You might as well make 2 sets....

You could probably sell a set...

LOL.... It will be easier if I end up going C-body 8.75 on top the leafs. That will lower the back like 1500 lbs of fire wood and then the traction device can mimic a Duster's.

I have actually been thinking about that too. Old Yeller has a straight axle front, and I have always liked gassers .

use an A-body 8 3/4. That way it fits right up to your leaf springs and make a set of traction bars. Once you lower it you have to change your rear shock degree. The shock locations are to far in to work right..

I think the A-body 8.75 might be too expensive for the budget, and, I question the width vs the truck...… Maybe a C - body 8.75. Much cheaper and very close fit for the truck

This is an A-body rear, fits very nice.

Nice. Did you move the perches? The A-body will be too expensive for the build. I'm thinking C-body or E - body. A-body rear ends, in my opinion, are too narrow for a Duster giving it "rabbit tracks". The truck being wider would only amplify that look.

Here is the side look, outside of the wheels are very close to the same. With the wide tire

I'm also looking at the 71-74 B-body rear ends. Really cheap and about 4" wider than a A-body.

You can use any rear housing. Just have to put on new spring perches and check the back spacing needed to center your tires
I think I "might" have learned something this morning. I read this morning that the '94-'03 Ram rear ends have the same perch width and are supposed to be a bolt in, but have a wider stance. Maybe a 9.25 with 3.90 gear and sure grip could be had for a 150 bucks??? (I don't care too much for the C clips though...)
