****'LL BUFF OUT.
no I bought the engine fully assembled from a classic car storage place . the roof had leaked in the building after a hurricane and they had the hood off so they took out the motor and left it in the building. it was a la 360 030 over with an air gap a 7qt moroso pan rollers worked heads an a electric water pump ect. ect. so the owner of the storage had a dakota that needed a 5.2 mag and I had one so we just traded he did not know why the motor was removed I took it apart and 2 cyl had water in them and I could tell it wasn't from the motorI just used some of the parts on my magnum and was going to use that pump cause I could tell the motor hadn't been run more than a few hours but just like everyone quoted in this thread I went to dissassemble it and seen the distortion on the mounting surface.Add more pictures showing the rest of the pump. I am wondering if this is an Amazon or eBay copy or a real Melling pump. Either way, give some details too. Are you saying the engine this came on failed during break in? What kind of failure?
sorry for the late reply but no there are no marks on the opp side thats what i thought but there is a ridge on the other side and no marks. i/ also gave the background I had for it in another post in this thread and all the other parts on that motor were fine. but who knows i/ just thought it should be posted so it can be added to the number stats and it wasn't just that it was other things the cot key was just loosely placed in it and other machining marks that were?????IDK but it looks like teeth marks from a vise. How about a picture from the back side of the pump, are there marks there as well.....?

Just "lighty" dress it flat with a file followed by sand paper on a flat surface. And use a gasket copper or a paper one (copper ones are better)sorry for the late reply but no there are no marks on the opp side thats what i thought but there is a ridge on the other side and no marks. i/ also gave the background I had for it in another post in this thread and all the other parts on that motor were fine. but who knows i/ just thought it should be posted so it can be added to the number stats and it wasn't just that it was other things the cot key was just loosely placed in it and other machining marks that were?????
