MeMike, I think it's time.......

One thing that would be good is to keep the build something that other mopar owners that have a slant car of their own could build. It would be great to show how to run a slant instead of sending it to the scrap yard.
I personally have raced a few slant races and the fellow /racers are wonderful people. It can be a cost effective way for a new driver with his/her /6 duster or dart to go racing. Lets not forget the future racers.

I am told the newer 225 crank shafts 1985 are quite abit lighter than the older ones. Save on that rotating weight.

You may remember my post from last year, I started an annual fund raiser for kids with Autism. 100% of the proceeds went to a local organization (C.O.R.E) who work with kids with autism and other mental and physical illnesses.
I had a contest where 2 kids got the chance to be a crew member on a Top Alcohol Dragster and Funnycar! I had hoped to raise between 500.00 to $1000.00 dollars and in the end we raised $6500.00
If you are looking for charity to donate to Autism is on the fore front and would be a great charity to donate to. Everyone I turned to to help out seemed to know someone afflicted by Autism and were very willing to donate.
If you think this is a cause we could use for donating and you need more info on where we could send it to, PM me and I can give you lots of ideas.

Dorian: The charity to be benefited has not been solidified so your choice is in the running and i thank you for your input. As many have noticed there has not been a lot of activity here on this issue as there is a lot of logistics being worked out as we speak so i will encourage all wishing to participate to please be patient and in the long run we will all be pleased as to the outcome of all of our endeavors.

Yes8) One step at a time will make this happen.

i may have a set of ko3 turbos(each turbo is for a 1.8L) to donate to the project if needed i am just waiting to see if they are rebuildable...

I read this whole thing and I kind of have to agree with ramcharger on the slant 6, stripped down racecar. For the amount of work and money going into the car, would you get enough back to be happy with? Since they are light cars, what about doing a built 318? 318s seem to be looked over a lot...

Slantzilla: In answer to your question, the answer is NO. There are many logistics that need to be resolved and worked out so as to be on the up and up with this magnitude of a project. Everyone wants to be sure their money is being used to the best effort so that all proceeds will go to a worthy cause and not to mention, the economy is not in a fovorable fashion at this time so that everyone will be able to assist as they would like. For heavan sake we would hate to make anyone feel left out, so for the time being this effort is being placed on hold. It is not dead, just on hold but the logistic efforts are still ongoing so when the physical build begins then all I's will be dotted and the T's will be crossed so for those of you that are led to assist on the effort wheather it will be monitarily or a supplyer of parts, cabbage onto what you want to donate and at a later time we will announce the focus and let everyone in on the scope of things to come. We really appriciate the enthusiasm of everyone that are wanting to assist. This type of effort takes a lot more time than many realize. Hopefully we can make this materialize by next summer. Continual input is appriciated. Thanks Guys and gals

SmallBlock,Any updates? Is there anything OUR Canadian members can do,contribute to help?Anything for this great site FABO!

Petty: There is. You can put your thinking caps on and participate in think of choices for a charity to whom we can benefit and for pete sake, let's not chose "Save the monkeys"

It should be an Internatinal Charity!Lots of members here from all over Gods creation.Someone will pipe in on a good charity that everyone can agree on.Sounds like a great Mopar idea!Maybe a sticky on parts needed for FABO car and donations?

It should be an Internatinal Charity for sure pettybludart:cheers:
And we could raffle the car off here at FABO :-k:drinkers:and then send the donation to a Internatinal Charity.

I have been drinking and thinking :-D

Has anything actually been done to the car? Logic would dictate that having something to raffle is way more important than who is going to get any money.

what ever happened to this build???? Is it still a go???? Would be cool to see it at MOnster Mopar this year

How come I never saw this thread?????!?!?!!!!This is the coolest thing since sliced bread and I missed it??? How did I miss this?

Too bad I just spent $1400 on th vans AC and it's not done, needs another 500 or so thrown at it..Im inclined to donate to this but Im freaking broke!

I will refer you back to post #137 for a focus on where we stand. On going but on hold. Keep you thinking caps on and keep loading the piggy bank.
