looks like you picked up power through the whole curve. nice running motor.
Oh. almost forgot....Thanks to everyone who advised, helped, suggested and otherwise just gave their thoughts....special thank you to good ole Yellow Rose for offering his time and effort.View attachment 1715137308
LOL, just a bit. Considering the BM heads were "Overly hogged out???"Velocity sure helps!
Actually you might be surprised. With the motor in it now (540 ish HP), it CAN hook pretty good.I bet that sucker doesn't hook for nada
No. Didn't see a reason to even waste my time back then. 530 horsepower was a joke. I still have it though.for ease of comparisons, i went back and took this from the first page...

there was no dyno sheet posted for the bloomers?
I would like to see the flow numbers of the current eddy heads, i bet the low/mid lift numbers are healthy.No. Didn't see a reason to even waste my time back then. 530 horsepower was a joke. I still have it though.
The new combo tops 550Hp 400RPM sooner and never looks back, numbers are up, & the torque band is waaay broader. That IS a TON better, especially for the sameWell, here's the final update. Just got home and the engine is still warn. So as you can guess, I am finally happy. Not a TON of difference from the Hughes Eddy's, but that thing did not sound right and had terrible throttle response.
Great power, good torque and I'm telling ya....that thing is really "snappy",,, I guess the word is. Great throttle response and a real nice 1200 RPM idle.
The only changes from the beginning are new Eddy's hand ported by my guy and a Victor 340 instead of the Super Victor. This is the last pull we made. Tried a race gas/pump gas mix, but on straight pump 93 it looked pretty much the same. (3 HP less) I think it's going to be a real fun street motor in my 3100 pound Demon 4 speed with 4:10'sView attachment 1715137306
Chambers are 68cc. I was surprised cranking PSI is only 180. My guy says it's due to the pretty big overlap in the cam.i was thinking, the bloomer heads were 72CC chambers?
the Hughes 68cc?
what are the current eddies??
maybe the biggest factor here is cranking psi...
was gonna ask what you were gonna do with the old millChambers are 68cc. I was surprised cranking PSI is only 180. My guy says it's due to the pretty big overlap in the cam.
My cranking PSI in the motor i've been running for 2 summers is 195. It's a 10.75:1, Iron heads(Indy/RHS). Just yanked it out yesterday. Felt kinda weird pulling out such a great running motor, but 45 more horses and 60 pounds off the front end should be worth it. Those Indy heads are 63 pounds a piece! I weighed 'em!
Might put that engine in the classifieds, might keep it for back up........not sure yet.
Good lord! Where is the short turn????
