Modern Headlights

What happened, I thought that Joey had put a sticky on this thread, so it would stay at the top of the topic.

Is it not relevant anymore

compared to the og bulbs. these halogen with led rings are super bright and white clear in color. 50 each from summit and plug and play right in.

They did not work worth a damn on my car. Just replaced them
In your original post you said Sylvania...Then you got Nighthawks and said they were good...What happened?
I have GE Nighthawks. Nice and bright and no problems after returning the first set that had defective terminal attachment.

Pawned, I will buy the GE nighthawks that you removed if you still have them.
I had to grind down the terminals on the back of the bulb, to get them to fit into the connector that was on the car when I bought it.

I do not have an answer for that. it just seemed that the output was not what it was when I got them. Maybe I was too optimistic when I got them.
or I am going crazy with age

Great headlights for sure. What I recommend with my relay kits. If they weren't bright, it's a sourced voltage issue or defective bulbs.

I'm going to be using this nifty relay box. Littelfuse, GM weatherpak connectors and 5 pin micro relays. About $38 from evilbay.

these are dot,l certified/approved holagen for the main lights and led rings in white. thisnis what i got above in the pic of my dart. much brighter than the originals based on what i could test off my battery not running.
they literally mount and plugged right in. zero modifications to anything. come with harness that plugged right in to mine.

US-made, LOLnope. They're Chinese trinkets sold with baldfaced lies. Every bit of it is unsafe, fraudulent, pathetic, fall-apart junk. There are enough good, legitimate options across a wide enough price/technology/feature/appearance range that there's no good reason to mess with shìt like this.

Haha, Dang.....hit a sore spot. Thanks for the info. I'll look elsewhere. So far I think the only "approved" manufacturers are SW Speaker and Truck-lites. Is that correct?

When you look up the site, there's plenty of mangled english. Then the 'founder' listed on the site leads to his linked in account, which shows multiple companies and an address. That address leads to a data-recovery company in Novato CA. So it looks like a couple of internet nerds are selling fake labelled made-in-USA parts that are ordered direct from alibaba.

No…JW Speaker and Truck-Lite are two of the good ones, though. See this earlier post in this same thread.
Thanks Dan. I'll stick with those two mfgr then. One last question, what's your opinion on the 27270C 7" from trucklites? Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that they project a funny X pattern. Anyone else have experience with these. I know one poster has Grote ones that look very similar and they liked them.

The 27270C is the Truck-Lite one I linked as a worthwhile option. They make an export-spec version (27290C) with a smoother beam pattern, but it's more difficult and expensive to get a hold of, and the "X"-shaped light-artifacts in the beam don't hurt anything. The Grote units are offshore (Far East) product branded for Grote. Not the worst on the market, but not close to the quality/durability/performance of the American-made units.
