modified hood

The more I see this the more I want it, but in flat black. Nice work!! Are you going to put a spoiler on the car?

Thanks for all the great comments. I'm not sure how to do multiple quotes but to answer a couple of questions. I don't have plans for a spoiler at the moment, I plan on a tail stripe and a stripe like the factory used on the challenger hood in black.
The color is viper red.
I might look into pulling a mold to make some fiberglass units if i thought there was enough serious interest.
The drawback to doing a hood the way i did is that you basically have two hoods there so it is pretty costly if you go that route, unless you happen to have a couple of spare hoods sitting in the corner.(lucky for me, i did) Also the hood tends to get a little heavy with the extra sheet metal. i did cut the bottom out in the middle and some at the front but it is still heavier than stock. Here is a pictur of the underside. The center triangle is open to the top and just in front of the main brace i cut some of the factory hood away to get the new part to lay flat. I hope that makes sense.

First off, I love what you did with that hood. Very nice work, and a great idea. Flat black does look great. How do I know ? Mine was done over a year ago, with gauges in one of the "pods" left from sectioning the hood.
We did mine a little bit differently though. Instead of adding the center section to the hood, I de-skinned my entire hood, cut the R/T hood in 3 places to shorten the length, and weld it all back together. Either way it all comes together very nicely. Great job !!

That really turned out nice... Gives a whole new agressive look to the car!!! I hope Jake's Cuda buldge turns out that well when we do it to his 65....

Well guys I am pretty much finished with this one for a while. I'm gonna drive her until somebody with cash wants her more than me. I lowered it, tinted the windows and added a white tail stripe. I am contemplating putting some white on the hood maybe like the stripe on the ram truck that David Stacey is doing on the gears show. What do you guys think?

Bitchin job! That hood modification, ties the whole front clip together.White add on,a possibility. Would help sell the car ,possibly.
 
That does look super, I like the idea of some white up front also.
What power plant does this beast have?
