Hey guys, got a question what you pay each month, for your internet service, and who you have it by.

My internet, and cable tv is Comcast-Xfinity, and it's gotten way out of hand for me to continue any longer, with a social security income, and my savings, in old age.

I have been seeing these come on ads, for senior citizens, for internet, and are they any good? Anyone have them?

I know carriers have got to service your location-area, and i'm around the Sacramento, Commiefornia area of this state.

Thank's for reading.

We have frontier, are seniors, get no brake at all. 116.00/month. We have an AT&T tower about 3000 feet from our home and was told by them, because we have our phones thru them, wireless will be 35.00/month. We have a new fiber optics cable across the street but they won't come across the street.

I have it through our local power company. $54.95 a month.

I have fiber optical 1000MB paying $65 a month, us seniors gets screwed.

When i had a regular land line telephone, back in the old days, it was thru AT&T.
On their web site it states internet could be $55.00 bucks a month with automatic billing on your credit card.
That sounds pretty good with me.
BUT, there always is a but.
I have to do more research with them about their equipment required for me to connect with the internet.
Do i have to buy the equipment, or is it rented, with an additional charge each month on the bill?

Internet, TV, and landline; $165C per month. Yeah I'm retired too, and I feel it; so, I farm out my skills, for eggs, milk, and bread.
I don't smoke nor drink, and my hotrod is parked, so, we're getting by.

what you pay each month, for your internet service,
What do you pay?
I have Comcast, dropped the TV service, started reasonable, now close to a hundred a month. Fiber has come in starting at 25 a month with a year contract. But we know how that will go with legal mumbo jumbo fine print.

It went up to $220.00 a month for cable, and internet.
I will be dropping cable tv, and won't get anything with anyone else, but i need the internet, so my question(s).

They all end up screwing you in the end, but compared to most the Spectrum that I pay $94 a month is pretty good. If I dump the TV portion ($27.95) which I plan to soon (because I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Paramount Plus already), so I'll then be paying $65.95 for 300MB Fiber Optic. Which unless you're a mad gamer is more than the average household of 4 needs. There is no contract required, no equipment fee, and no taxes added to the Spectrum price.

We had and are getting again at our new home, AT&T fiber. When we had it in Georgia it was only $55/month, no other charges.

We dropped cable a couple years ago. For awhile we had Hulu Live, which started at $65/month but went to $81. Now we have Hulu plus ESPN+, and Peakcock (which gives the local NBC station Live). Hulu is $15/month and Peacock is $5/month.

We have Roku that sends the internet to our non Roku televisions. Roku has live news and lots of movies. You buy the Roku unit at Walmart, then it doesn't cost anything else. If you buy a Roku TV, it's already included and you just connect it wireless to the internet.

Then we get prime Video with our Amazon Prime account (again. lots of movies) for $15/month, I think. Then we get Paramount channel with our Walmart+ account. My wife still uses Walmart + for free delivery of groceries and we get .10 a gallon off gas at Walmart.

****, it all adds up, and its a bit to get used to but its doable. And, it's better than paying Comcast big bucks because they think "they can".

We had Cox cable for TV and internet. It got more and more expensive over time. We went with AT&T about 4 years ago. They had just started up a streaming service for TV channels. I pay $40 for internet (which is good enough to stream all my TV channels and Netflix. My TV channels are great. I get more channels now than I had through Cox, and I get free HBO and free Max. Plus, I was paying $10 per month for a DVR, and with AT&T it is free. The service is GREAT, and it is well over $100 per month less than I was paying for cable.

I have Frontier with both TV and internet and it's now $299.00 a month although to be fair I get most of the movie channels. I recently had a remote go bad and had to pay $20 for a new one.

Seems one has to play a game. When the contract runs out, and the monthly charge goes up, one has to call them and threaten to disconnect. Then they scramble and find some "hidden" plan. I don't believe much under fifty a month is possible anymore. Hughes Net, Spectrum all won't budge and go under fifty a month. Have low speed Comcast, some call it Xfinity for forty five a month. Don't need or want anything else.

My options are limited at my home (boondocks) ..local provider , $46.00 a month , its pretty slow ..

Guess I'll never retire , can't afford to

Cox Cable TV ( over 200 channels) High Speed Internet $159 a month locked in for another year then who knows. I will cross that bridge when I get there Of those 200 channels I only watch maybe 40% of them . Although we can afford paying the high prices I will be following this closely for ideas. We didn't become finacially stable by over paying for things

Well, i made my executive decision and signed up with ATT for my internet connection.
$55.00 bucks a month, with automatic billing to my bank account.
NO equipment fees to pay for.
Guess the black box will be here in 2 or 3 days time.
Self hook up, so no technician required for the installation.
I think this old man can handle that ok.

Jim, if your internet connection with AT&T turns out to be pretty good, you can stream channels you like to watch thru Roku or other such streaming services. The streaming thing is pretty easy. Once you get it down, it's like anything else....just repitition. A regular old TV antenna works fine to get local channels for news. Not that news is worth watching anymore....lol.

I missed this thread, but I pay $55/month. It's the only thing I lease that I don't own, service provided by Brightspeed.

I have Spectrum for internet (slowest speed), at $9.95/mo (wife qualifies for Medicaid discount). Consumer Cell for three lines (unlimited voice only, no text or data) for $68.66. Antenna for TV. about 50 channels (about 30 worth watching) Free.
