here is the crank pulley you need.. use the measurements to find a used one..

The spacer was 2 1/4 long. I don't know if it matters but mine is from an AC car.

70 and up a/c cars had a double groove water pump pulley and double groove alt pulley. They had two belts spinning the compressor that ran off the crank-alt-wp

You are close, but I think the non-a/c cars had a single groove alt pulley - it aligns a little better...

70-up a/c cars had a single groove wp pulley that went crank,wp,ps. the rear two grooves on the crank pulley went crank, a/c compressor, alt.

yes non a/c cars had single groove alt pulley from the factory.. but the double groove rear groove lines up perfectly.. most from the parts store comes with a double groove since it works on a/c and non a/c cars..

Ok, I see. The alt - a/c belt was separate from the water pump...

But I still say the non a/c lines up best with the single groove alt...

as long as you are using the proper non a/c bracket and spacers the rear groove on a double pulley alt is in the same location as a single groove alt.

It seems to be a little rearward when I've seen them. The single lines up better. The single groove pulley ends up in the middle of the double groove - if you follow what I'm trying to say.

I've seen many people with them each way, but I strive to go for the best alignment I can to keep from side loading the belts...

We tried both alternators on ours, it aligned best with a single pulley...

gonna have to agree to disagree. i've used the double many times when i couldn't find the single and it aligned just fine. never threw a belt or chewed up a belt. they line up just like the single pulley.

so back on track on what the OP asked. look at the pics i posted. thats the proper way to run your belts. its also the proper pulleys you need to find(new or used),and you'll also need the proper alt bracket if you don't already have it..
