Mopars in the Wild

-
This Custom Royal is in my local Chrysler dealership, it's been sitting there for about a year now. At first they said they were going to do body work on it for someone, but now it just sits. 361 with dual quads.

Could be. I just asked the guys if it was a 361, they said yes. I'm sure their wasn't only one engine that used dual quads and that style air cleaner though. Joe's 57 DeSoto uses dual quads and that style air cleaner on his 345.

I'd hate to be the mechanic on that hemi. Can't even SEE the distributor. It seems to have AC? WHAT is that oval thing right above the brake master?

Them are some nice pics of mopars and I have 2 pick a parts near my house with in 15 miles both ways. I seen a 68-69 Dart and a 73-76 Dart in the other..

That's the "bellows-style" power brake booster. When you step on the brake with the engine running, the rubber bellows compresses to assist in the braking effort; makes a "whooshing" noise. The reserve vacuum tank is mounted close by on the inner fender, good for a couple of brake applications if the engine quits.

I think it was a 350 in 58, then went to 361 in 59.
According to Popular Mechanics, February 1958, both engines were introduced in the 1958 models. The 350 was optional on Plymouth and Dodge and standard on De Soto Firesweep. The 361 was used on De Soto Firedome and Fireflite.

saw this 64 D100 today, had the first /6 I've ever seen.
owner said it was rebuilt in 80-something. and was running better then when they first bought it 13 years after date of birth. Thing was beat to all hell but still kicken.

Here's a mid 70's extended cab pickup, definitely a big block. I was driving behind it for a while.

This is down the street from me, I'm buying it within the next couple months I think.

It's a 68 Fargo D200, 318, auto on the dash, 4.10's in the rear. Runs great! Had body work done to it about 3 years ago, and sat in that spot ever since.

Here's what I saw over the Labor Day weekend.
I see they got lost when FABO had that glitch last September, so here they are again.

Owned by a little old lady, said she bought it in the early 70's. Mostly all original, 318 auto, and said she has no intentions on selling anytime soon. Uses it as a daily driver.

Used to see this around Victoria a lot, not so much lately. Looked fairly original, pistol grip inside. Wonder if its still parked behind Taco Time..
