For some reason shipping goes up exponentially when shipping to Canada even though sometimes it is cheaper to come to me than some parts of the lower 48.

You should see the cost from some of the retailers like Jegs and rock auto. I have to be REALLY motivated to buy from them. Some Canadians use drop boxes in Maine, etc that will reship at actual shipping costs into Canada to get around the inflated shipping costs. I believe a member said a couple of years ago that Jegs profit is 66% of the shipping costs to Canada.

We are such a small market. No matter, it is what it is.

A big part of your problem is broker fees when UPS packages are shipped. That's why I have received packages here and reshipped via USPS to some of the folks north of the border.
 
Interesting that.

I tend to only deal with companies that ship USPS. Great company..never lost a parcel.

If the product comes across the border in Ontario, I seem to escape broker / duty fees. If the package goes through Quebec, I am nailed every time.

So far. I have been extremely lucky.

If the product goes courier I get nailed every time with every possible charge the company can think of...and there is a hefty kickback for the company sending such as JEGS....I am at a point that as I mentioned above..no shipping usps, no buy..

I have found honest companies in the states that will ship to me via usps at the actually cost with no "handling" (what the hell is that ???) fee.
