So the other nite we had a movie night with the kids and we watched signs

I had forgotten what a great movie that is, very little profanity, no gore, but still suspenseful and a great story

Do you guys know of any other movies that fit this criteria?

Any of M Night Shyamalan movies. The Village, Sixth Sense, Unbreakable etc.

Thanks, I'll look into those

I know I have the village on DVD (the baby loves it) and I know that one fits perfectly

I've never actually seen the Sixth Sense because I'm not a fan of Bruce Willis, but we can give him a shot

There's a new Shyamalan movie out now or about to come out. I just saw something about it yesterday.

The Sixth Sense isn't a typical Bruce Willis movie. It's about as far from Die Hard as you can get.

It looks like his newer stuff gets more gorey then I'd like

There's a little bit, but this isn't an action movie with spurting arteries and severed limbs. It's a psychological thriller so it doesn't need to be graphic.

That sounds like something me and the wife would enjoy

Stuff like "the prestige" and "stonehearst asylum"

Movies that keep you on your toes without trying to get you to throw your lunch

An issue you might have with The Sixth Sense is that a central part of the story has ghosts on earth. That may offend a person of faith such as yourself.

great point, thanks for bringing that up

i got to admit, this is a point im a little inconsistent on
"the others" has ghosts in it, and i like that one
"poltergeist" on the other hand

not sure how i decide what is acceptable and what isnt, i guess a lot of it is if the ghosts are evil or not

Their appearance is unpleasant, but not gory. And they're not evil. To avoid spoiling I don't want to say more.
Based on what you said, I think you'll be fine with it.
