A little info: MSD Distributor (Yes you read that right), took a chevy v6 distributor and modified it to work on the slant 6. FiTech power adder 600 hp EFI - Home built headers - T5 Transmission - Ford Rear End Posi Trac - After market Air/Heat/Defrost - Switched locations of Alternator and Iir compressor as didn't want hoses crossing over the valve cover nor did I want added heat from turbo on Air Cond Compressor - Ford 1 Wire Alternator

About it. Some pictures attached- Hopefully

That's a pretty clean install. Most of them have wires, hoses and general crap running everywhere and that's the MAIN reason I probably won't do a turbo build. They all look like ****. But yours doesn't look too bad. Can we see some pictures of the rest of the car please?

Awesome. But you need to ditch fotophucket and upload the pictures through this site so they don't have Great Big Huge nonsense from BucketPhucket in the middle.

And that is an awesome amount of DIY there

Now that’s what hot rodding is all about. I’d love to see some dyno numbers or some E.T.’s!

That is very sweet and yes please more non photo bucket pictures. How does it drive? Is it mostly a street car?

Yes, a street car built to have enough power to pass things on the interstate when necessary and have overdrive to keep rpm's down. It will never see the track as I have other cars for that. Running low boost (6PSI) and has plenty of power at that level of boost. Drives quite well, stops equally well with the 4 wheel disc brakes. So far stock 170 engine but will see some upgrades when I rebuild the engine at a later date. Just wanted to prove everything before investing in rebuilding the engine. I'll post pictures of car when I get time to take them. Still needs paint and minor body work. May or may not paint as getting old (70) and not feeling like doing much more work on the car.

What was done to get MSD distributor for Chevy V6 to work for the slant?

Shorten overall length, shorten shaft, re=drill hole for pin to mount slant 6 gear build adjustable stop collar to set proper length. Cut groove for O-Ring. Not much to it really. Just duplicate what you have on the standard distributor and it works. It is a tight fit but will work. You can see how much I shortened the shaft by what is setting by the modified distributor.

I also had to grind a little on the body of the distributor to get clerance to rotate so timing could be set. doesn't take much.

I Had to modify front fender to get proper clearance on 15" tires. Able to run 4 1/2 Degrees positive caster and still turns easy in a parking lot at slow speeds. VW sized front tire.

Gauges 63 Dart.jpg

I just used some old gauges I already had instead of buying new gauges. May change to Autometer in the future.

What size front tire and wheel? I have similar wheels and no rubbing but a 66 fender may be a bit different shape. (165/80-15 on 4 1/2" wide wheels)
Lots of nice work done on your Dart. I bet it runs like a scalded dog! Any drag strip time slips?

 VERY NICE!! Great attention to detail. Dash looks great & so does the engine. Excellent!!

What alternator did you use, and mount? I'd love to go that route of the driver side alternator. Probably will go mini, like a Denso or something internally regulated. I got one of a GEO Sprint on my LA and its 48A but tiny. Would not need much more.

I don't know what bottom bracket he used, but the top bracket is a stock slant bracket flipped upside down.

Good Eye! I'll see if I can get a picture of the bottom mount. I just used an Alternator I had floating around the shop. You can make anything fit if you have the time.
