Your a better tuner and driver than me!! Lol I'd love to see this thing in the mid 8s . That's not my goal by no means but that would be a hella added bonus. My goal Is functionality and reliability. The only reason I ask this is because I was talking to one of my Chevy buddies at work and he was dissing my build saying I would be lucky to break 9.5 he is one of those guys who really dont know anything about anything he just dropped a block and 6 grand off at a machine shop!!
He said I was crazy for porting my own heads and I probably ruined them hahaha
That being said does have a badass 68 camero that he BOUGHT!!

when I was a teenager, and I saw somebody going faster than me with an equal or less build, I simply wouldn't accept anything less from my car. Anything less and it was an under achiever (or I was...lol).

If I were you, I'd fully expect to exceed my current numbers and if not, I would never quit working on it till it did.

I honestly don't know if I will ever take it to the track. I'd like to just to see what it will do. My two biggest objectives are carb tuning and timing. Getting that right is my main concern. I've never really done either correctly. I have set the timing a few times but never really tuned it if that makes since.

All of us started at one point. Let the car tell you what it wants. Period. I pull timing, add timing, add cfm's, add or pull jetting all in accordance how the car responds. Although my butt dyno is pretty accurate, I like the drag way for tuning. I watch the mph. 60 ft times speak if you have traction.

You are absolutely correct. I've seen 12 second combos go high 14's.

My 03 mustang Gt has outrun many a higher horsepower car due to one thing, I hooked they didnt. Take your time and enjoy your car, you are the only one who has to be happy with it.

:D

Got my manual gearbox bought paid for it last night. Now I just have to get a coupler and pitman arm. I'm thinking of doing something a little different for my coupler I think I'm gonna use one of the I joint couplers it's cheaper than buying a original one and its longer I may not have to beat my shaft out. If so probably not as much. Something like this.

I also got a little more work done the the block just some final small stuff before taking it to the machinist. I got the distributor drive bushing knocked out and I got the main caps back on.

Ok time for an update I havent got much done. As some of yall know I had to move my car and all my stuff to a new spot I am just about finished with all that crap and I'm about to get going again. I'm gonna try and finish my heads and get my heads and block to the machinist soon. I did manage to dig out my bucket seats. I had planned on using the bench seat but now I'm not sure these buckets look awfully tempting to recover and use.

Buckets are sporty but nothing like a bench. When I was younger I went on a bucket seat campaign and I swapped so many cars to bucket seats, till i started driving them as daily drivers. Now I find myself paying hundreds of dollars for original benches, same ones I tossed when I was a young dumbass.

If you get a chance to drive a long distance on a bench, you will probably leave it. They sold a lot of benches when these cars were new for very good reason. Imo

Heck Yeah put some new covers on those.

Nice part is they have the vinyl upholstery on the back of the backrest. The other style with the plastic backs . . those plastic backs get all beat up and are hard to get looking nice again.

They kind of look like Cuda Buckets the way the seat side of the upper backrest looks. 74 Dart bucket seats have the striped pattern running all the way up to the top of the backrest on the seat side, These are a little easier to recover and fit this way, and easier to sew together.

Those so called reverse curves on the Cuda bucket backrests there are more difficult to sew and fit properly. Good upholstery people can do it though.

Got the bucket seat tracks to work with the A bodies, or are they Cuda seat tracks ?

Glad you are back on her . . .

They are challenger seats. A good friend of mine had a 74 challenger and he sold me these seats when I had my barracuda they where in alot better shape than the ones in my cuda.

I like the look of the buckets but I like the comfort and class of a bench. I also like having my girl in the middle of a bench seat behind me. Haha but I seriously dought she will ever ride with me Haha she hates my car.

They made 143,187 dodge dart sedans and hardtops in 1975. Out of that, more than half have been recycled because so many people parted them out. I would guess roughly 1/8 of that number are still around.

There are 157 million women on the planet.

You tell me which one is more replaceable LMAO
