Restore it, Dont part it!
Figured out why my new gauge is reading high its reading like 125 when its cold. This was it setting over night and it was like 40 degrees out.
I would be more worried about it shorting out on the starter case.Got the starter fixed i decided to just take it apart solder it myself the shipping cost to return it is dang near the cost of the starter. Don't be to harsh on my solder skills haha

I put that wrap as far up as I could go.I would be more worried about it shorting out on the starter case.

Inside the cab of course lol. I did get my driveshaft back and hooked up this week. But still can't drive it yet Iol.

That is a racing secret to free up horse power! You don't know that one?.
In the second picture your distributor cap is not on correctly.
I got the starter all fixed up and put back in today. I adjusted the kickdown some more. And for the first time in 18 years the dart moved down the road under its own power. I had made another video with my knockoff gopro, but the battery died and it didn't save lol. But my wife filmed it for me from a distance. I was having some issues with it dying under load, I adjusted on the carb and did better the 2nd and 3rd trip. The last trip I actually took it about 1/2 a mile just to make sure that trans would shift and it did. Still got some bugs to work out but today was a huge win!! Im so happy!
Once I get a better tune I will get you a better burnout lol. This thing is gonna be a ripper! It has so much umf! Leaning into from a dead stop puts me back in the seat and Barks the tires.Happy for you! You waited a long time for this moment

Thanks its been a long journey thats for sure lol. It's been almost 3 years. I started working on it july 2018.I am SO happy for you. Following your thread with all the work you've put in and now to have it move under it's own power...doesn't get much better than that! Congrats - great job!!
Yea I put the dogs up I didn't want them running around the car while driving with unknown brakes and everything else lol. They are extremely brave and like to walk right beside the vehicle im in and It always makes me nervous so I took them inside. If you listen closely you can probably hear them barking in the house haha. I heard my oldest son say "after all these years" lolHEY.....wait a minute!?!? No dogs in the pics? WTH? LOL.....they usually photo bomb you. Great job beginning till now...and I know it's not the end.
