Wtf kinda witchcraft is this?? Are yall messing with me??
H & X seemed to be tied with the true duals right behind them. Engine Masters has a video on it on a low powered 350. IMO, run a X or H. An X sounds smoother, the H has a muscle car sound. That is almost exactly the same setup I'm gonna be running. I have the same headers 2 1/4 inch pipe with thrust turbo mufflers.
What is best true separate duals or and h pipe x pipe (the two sides connecting) ?
When I put the 4.30 in my Duster it will be trailered to the track, closest one is 3 hrs away.
I have the truck and trailer so why not?
What I have is a y pipe 1 going into 2 then 2 turbo mufflers exiting out the back. When I was young and dumb I put duals on a slant six lol. So I'm using the pipe that I have and cutting the y out and going forward to the headers. I was thinking about just doing two pipes to the headers and not even fooling with connecting the two it would be easier and cheaper for me less welding and less cutting measuring etc. I think for the time being since I'm doing it all myself I will probably just go that route and maybe later on when I have money to spend on exhaust go back and replace it all from the headers back with 3" pipe and do it nice.H & X seemed to be tied with the true duals right behind them. The only way to truly know is dyno test/track test. But ether is pricey
It'll be fine. Your *** dyno and won't know the difference. How did we ever survive without crossovers? What I have is a y pipe 1 going into 2 then 2 turbo mufflers exiting out the back. Tried (for test purposes) three intakes; Street Dominator, Action Plus, Factory cast. Wondering how a dual quad set up would do vs the other three....???
I remember some member showing a video saying that you can never have too much carburetion...Tried (for test purposes) three intakes; Street Dominator, Action Plus, Factory cast. Wondering how a dual quad set up would do vs the other three....???
who? lol. If me, I really didn't say you can "never have too much carburetion", but in my video I said the myth of "forcing too much air/gas into the engine" is a myth, they are not turbos or superchargers... LOLI remember some member showing a video saying that you can never have too much carburetion...
so I helped a customer yesterday and I'm going to be helping him for quite a few days it looks like taking his motor and why not his transmission out at the same time.. it's in a 65 Barracuda formerly a slant six. He's spent ungodly amounts of money over the years two different shops having all kinds of stuff done claiming blueprinted and balanced hydraulic lifters with Harland sharp rockers LOL and TTI headers.. with less than 700 miles in over probably 7 years of owning the car it has what seems like a head gasket leak up front by the number one. Was told it could be the front header bolt but it's not.. can't get the head off with the TTI is in the way so we're looking at just pulling the motor and transmission and putting it on the stand. I don't know if the heads warped or what the hell is going on...who? lol. Because they watch to much TV and see things like the Power Tour with fellas running 2K HP engines all over the country. So they say to themselves.... I can do that **** easy with 500HP.Some folks are just out in left field. They build a performance engine and then wounder why it hates being driven in stop and go traffic for 2 hours.... Gosh

Most people miss that a small cam can still go far. It is how you back it up. This is not the ‘70’s were your stuck with a 1:1 final drive in the transmission. For street machines, a OD trans is your friend!!!
LOL... yeah, I like that math! Doubt it would run any better than the Action Plus/770 Holley I have on it now, but it may get the chance. I hope to post pictures in a couple weeks of the combo..... I said I "hope"Twice as good?
Or take it to somebody that knows what they are doing..... I wish he'd throw a simple Edelbrock on there and we could tune it in....

He already did that! And look at what he has.. a rebuilt 273 with hydraulic lifters and Harland sharp rockers a massive dual-plane Edelbrock intake and a carburetor that it's just ridiculous and behind it a needless QuickTime blow proof bellhousing with a hydraulic throw out bearing probably needed to get around those TTI headers.. problem is he's been taking it to too many people who think they know what they're doing..Or take it to somebody that knows what they are doing....
That's exactly it! I talked to him about maybe some kind of whiplash cam or something cuz he's all about looks and sound for the most part but just wants to put it around to show off to people and has no intention of racing or doing anything that the motor was supposedly built for...I was just making a point... Not that this was built rite or wrong... I really dont know! I'm sure J Par will get him straightened out... Mopar on Broth'a...
Read my post again, it still stands..... Spending money and taking it to countless places doesn't mean he has taken it to somebody that knows what they are doing...He already did that! between parts cost in labor I bet he's got over 2K into that bellhousing in hydraulic throwout bearing..
It's tough to be into classic cars and can't change a thermostat. This hobby gets real costly in a hurry… or you better have a great friendA fool and his $ is quickly parted. Or I should say an ignorant (uninformed) person that can afford to pay too many ignorant and unethical people for bad work is screwed!!
I should say, J Par is right, if the guy wants a pretty thumpy sound, lots of eye candy for the ??whoever, give him what he wants, hopefully it will drive down the road with whatever!
