More donuts per capita in Texas than any other state. One on every corner, sometimes two. Almost like Waffle Houses in the SE ! Ha

Is this true? I'm not a "dough-nut", but I'm always eager to celebrate an event like this. And feel it unappropriate not too..

I don't eat donuts anymore. I used to love them as a treat, but back in 1995 my wife bought me a “birthday cake” made from donuts piled in the shape of a cake with candles on top.

Unfortunately, I was unexpectedly laid off from work without any severence that day and ever since then, I associate donuts with the nauseous feeling I experienced that miserable day. I can’t even look at them without reliving that day.

I will never forget arriving home after being laid off and seeing donuts piled on a plate to celebrate what turned out to be one of the worst days in my life. I hardly even want to acknowledge my birthday anymore either for the same reason.

had to walk with my kid to get a 6-pack...of donuts.

Ddaddy, that is a drag. Sort of like associating beer with a DUI...

My work has 'cupcake day' once a month to celebrate all the birthdays of that month. They buy more cupcakes than we can possibly eat (but we give a good effort) Since today would have been the day for it they did 'Doughnut Day' instead.
