They are TCI headers if I remember correctly. The pipes going into the collector are huge, 2" is barely half the size. I'm like????? 3" is a step down, 2 is cutting it off, a dang kink...
Buy the jegs 3" kit , wAy better...and use dynomax ultra flow mufflers.Sounded like crap to me too. I'm looking for 3" extension/collectors, Summit does not have a 3" in 3" out. Not that I can find.
The shop my Duster is in wants to neck down the exhaust from TCI headers to a 2 inch pipe. The collectors are 3", after the foot of 2" pipe they plan to use, the 2" extensions the headers came with, they plan on going to 3" out the back. Is this stupid or a good idea?
Thanks
I’d even feel guilty doing to someone I did not like much.Dam sure wouldn`t do it to mine !!
Plus a 10' stick of 2" pipe cost him a few bucks. Huge profit in 2" exhaust. Go at least 2 1/2" Stoker could use 3" with 2 1/2" tail pipes. With all the nice exhaust kits out there now days, why go with a crudely bent set up from a exhaust shop.I think 2 inch is to make it easier for him to bend and tweak around driveshaft and cross members. Better ground clearance too. I'd get a 3 inch aftermarket system that's had all the bugs worked out and do it yourself. Also Jegs and Summit price match.
Never heard of headers from TCI.
Not the popular opinion, but I don't think there is such a thing as too big in that distance from the merge to the mufflers. One 3" pipe is similar in area to two of 2"pipes, but 2 of 2" pipes has ~33% more pipe skin... so if you installed a PAIR of 2s on each side, you'd end up with a lot pipeskin,er radiating area, and your muffler would not have to work so hard. lol. But I'd run about a foot and a half of merge-sized pipes first. So then.............

Your right, TTI. Sorry, I'm dyslexic.
Sorry but a small point of contention. Dyslexia is where you mix letters up from within the word. Changing letters and making up your own stuff is called being a democrat.
