need help decoding trans

I just found this trans and would like to know what it is ? Please Help ! The number on main case is C99129 H the tail housing is C99126-1 It has 18 spline input . Thanks for any info.

there should be some numbers on a 1x3 inch pad on right side of case...
C-99126 tail shaft is for 1969-71 A-body transmissions with 30 spline output.

Sounds like it could be a re-gutted 18 spline trans for an a-body?

I looked at numbers on pad and they are pp 833 3356 0038

pp = new process
833 is model 4-speed
3356 - date assembly code = Monday, October 5, 1970 (71 model year)
0038 = 38th trans build that day.

seems to match up with the tail shaft... No I would not say junk that's for sure. recount the splines again as it looks like may have been converted to the "HEMI" guts 18 spline? which would make it pretty desirable to some...

It is 18 spline for sure. Thank you again for looking up this information for me as you can guess Im new to mopar but I finally came around to right brand. Also would this transmission be cast or aluminum ?

that case number I believe should be cast iron only. I also sent you a PM.

It is cast I was just hoping I didn't get took cause Im new. I just acquired a 1969 dodge dart hard top and was going to try this trans Thanks again for taking time for questions

what are you going to be doing with the dart? drag racing? or a mild street/ strip car?

Tailshaft have two shifter bosses on it?

If so, it's a B/E body trans.

It's a hemi/440 trans converted to A body if a short tail.
