Welcome from the great state of Texas. If the title and the VIN match, that's a good thing. There are a few cars out there with no fender tag. See if you can find the build sheet, (ie; under the back seat, under the dash, or on top of the fuel tank.) It's your car, build it like you want it.
 
my 68 is in pieces as I bought it. is the vin stamped in other locations on the car? just seems like the dash shouldnt define the whole car.
 
Welcome aboard! Build sheet might be located above glove box in the dash, other location would be in one of the seat bottoms, tucked in the spring.
Others my chime in as well, but, IIRC, wasn't there something on the rad suport with the VIN?
