I may get a lotta flak for this, but I’d like to see the News & Politics forum
taken down from the website.

Hear me out.. I have no issue with N&P as it relates to automotive topics
like innovation, inventions or legislation involving cars, especially old cars, but most everything I see there is just divisive political rhetoric that has nothing to do with our gear-head interests. I’m sure not the only one who feels this way since I’ve had numerous conversations with friends and strangers who said “I just wanted to talk to them about cars and they started spouting all their political beliefs, so I left!”
It would be great to see the site return to forums that highlight our COMMON interests serving to unite us instead of divide us.

This forum is an opt-in forum. If you don’t like it, then opt out. I enjoy reading items from people all over the world, how they give their personal perspective about what they see going on in their world. Where else can we get this kind of information?

I agree with you there, as I enjoy alternate perspectives from others that don’t live in our culture and I am opted-in, it just seems like most of the discussions there end up in nail-scratching, hair pulling cat fights.

Not all of them do, though I see a few members come from a weird point of view. I typically just either don’t read their posts or put them on total ignore. I gave up trying to understand their point of view for the most part because they are not rational and/or truthful.

There is a reason why politics arent discussed in the car forums. Can you imagine what a crap show the car forums would be if political comments were allowed everywhere? The N&P gives the members a place to go to post their opinions.

Just like less than tastefull photos. There is a Blue Forum for that. Post them there or don't post them. Nudie photos are not allowed anywhere on the site but there.

Wanna avoid politics?
Avoid the political forum.
I did, for years. I got enough politics on the b-side. I don't remember what it was, but something caused me to sign on to Pol here too.
If I decided I didn't like it or want it...... I'd leave.

Welp if it stays, it stays.
And to be clear, I never said or even considered politics would be advisable or allowed in the car forums.
This forum is named Q’s & S’s
That’s my suggestion.

Just do like I did and unsubscribe from it. There's enough news and politics elsewhere on the net. I get a belly bait of it there. I don't need it here.

ask to be removed from that forum.. i do not see it and like it that way.
Like I said, if it was primarily automotive related I’d read it all the time, just seems like mostly people arguing about their extreme political beliefs, and there’s too much of that already in our society.

It is. It's just a place for people to hate on each other and get by with it. Not my speed.

I dont mind it,,,,it’s really informative sometimes .
And besides,,,,there are only about 4 or 5 that really stir up trouble .
If you look at their post,,they are only there to cause trouble .
Their comments to reactions score are super low,,,,so they are really just here to stir the pot .
No real car input at all from them .

Tommy

^^^ Yep, some trolls and guys to just stir the pot!!
But no one is forced to attend the party.
Actually, some good and accurate info at times emerges.
Like said, this forum keeps such out of car discussions.
