Racer Brown with W-2s ....I can smell power coming...good start

Brian, I love that you are doing a W2 build. Those are often forgotten with all of the newer head options out there. Interested to see the results for sure!

Thanks! We are definitely going for an old school day 2 build. This is how I would have built it in 1980 if I hadn’t been a broke HS senior.

That will be a mean engine:thumbsup:

My 416 has a much milder cam/head combo and blows the tires off. 420 rear wheel horsepower

You’ll have a lot fun

Start saving for tires.

I found a set of custom wheels for sale on Marketplace. They are 15x9 with 4" backspace. They came with a pair of worn out P275/60R15 drag radials on them, so of course I had to bolt them on to see how they looked. So far, I'm digging them.

I've got new tires coming for the front and am going to put them on these Ansen Sprints. They are 15X5.5 and have 3.5" backspace. I think this will make it appear as if the wheels are much skinnier than they really are. All part of the Day 2 look.

Not sure that the 318 would spin them. Besides, I’m still breaking in the clutch. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

back in my youth to smoke the tyres on a manual car i'd gently reverse, then while rolling back select 1st, floor the throttle, side step the clutch and put my clutch foot onto the brake to hold the car still. it becomes easy with practice, lol.
neil.
