GT 40; Henry Ford II's answer to Enzo Ferrari for turning down his offer to buy Ferrari in the early 60's; 66 and 67 they finished 1,2,3 at LeMans, kicking Ferrari's ***

IMSA GTP Corvette came out about 1984, 5 or 6 cars built, most were turbo V6's, one was built as an original V8 car
IMSA Jag kicked the Corvetts ***, an American hot roded V12, beautiful car

In the grocery store parking lot, I thought of some more.

Pre-1975 MGB GT with either a ford 302 engine or a jaguar 6.0 V12 to keep it properly British.

MG Midget with a Mazda 13B rotary engine.

RX-8 I like the suicide doors...

1995 or older Mazda Miata with a ford 302.

Got it. '98 Lexus SC400:

Saving the Grand Prix for a winter beater. When that dies, I'll replace it with a little 4x4.

'66 289 4-speed fast back Mustang 2+2

63-67 Corvette coupe. I have owned three Corvettes; a 65 roadster, a 66 roadster and a 65 coup that was my daily driver for about 8 years.

Who wanted a 69 Javelin?

Has louvers and still has buckets.
Interesting color.
Looks like was A/C.
Kind of begs for a 440.

1969 AMC Javelin

I was looking at a BMW 840(not the one pictured) about ten years ago, my wife said it didn't look BMW enough. A v8 or v12 with a 5 speed would have been fun.
