Not everyone's cup of tea. 71 Demon

Thanks Giuseppe.
I couldnt afford to have someone build a car for me. The only thing I didn't do to this car was the interior. I wanted it nice and I don't have the tools or know how to do what I want..... yet. LOL The car has flaws but I think it presents itself well enough.
The pics in this thread were taken in 4 different shops. We build them in my friends shop, I had it stored for a while at another friends shop, interior pics were taken at the interior shop.
This is my shop. I built the shop with two of my friends to save money. I also built/rebuilt my house for the same reason. I keep it simple and live within my means and where I can do what I want so I don't have my niegbors telling me how to live. I'm not rich by any means. If I could afford it I would live outside of town but property around this area is expensive!
I have a 4 post lift in my shop that I gave $1000 for and the only Snap on tools I own are used. Hell, I make $15 an hour! I'm only saying this because I want car guys to know that they can have what they want if they surround themselves with good people, hustle, save and set thier minds to it.

As stated in the title not everyone's cup of tea. So not my cup of tea but no denying that your dream, plan and execution are first rate. That's what I love about the car hobby each person can express themself the way they want. I have nothing but respect for your courage to be different and your talent to accomplish what you've done. Keep on Keeping on my friend.

Had a couple request for updates. Not much new. I did put in a Spec clutch and QuickTime bellhousing. Now I should be able to add big boost with fear of loosing the clutch.
Finished up the interior, put in remote keyless entry and some other remote items. That required a little re-wiring so I built a new relay panel with room for upgrades. It fits behind the trunk interior panels that I need to finish. Also added a Bluetooth amp with hands free controller in the console. I dont have a head unit, I just send music from an ipod to the amp.

Awesome build, especially “doing it your way”! Love the idea of going away from the same old”cookie cutter” versions that are a dime a dozen. Yours is unique and “1 of 1” for sure. I’m also going away from a same old cookie cutter however not quite as extensive as yours. I’m not in the same league but doing “ it my way”. Thumbs up!

Thanks. I'm happy and that's the bottom line. LOL Build your ride your way!!
I like all kinds of cars and styles. I really don't care what style a build is. I appreciate everything from a stock curved dash Oldsmobile to over the top show cars and trucks.
I built this car because I wanted something that I could drive across country as well as different kinds of racing if that's what I want to do. This car will serve different purposes and I'll jump in my 64 Fury when I want that old school brute, no BS experience.

Man you knocked that out of the park !!!!! Did you do the dash ? looks great, would like to change mine up also. Thanks for the reply on my ride also .

Thanks. I just made the dash and console out of steel, exhaust and whatever scrap I had laying around. I tried to make the side ridges of the console match the bottom ridge of the dash to make it look like it wasn't an afterthought.
Probably not the lightest dash and console around but it has a look I can live with.

I've been busy with work, some time helping out in Houston and helping with other builds but this is the year of the Demon!
I guess it's been a while since I've done an update so here goes.
The car is running but still needs some fine tuning. Interior is done other than painting the console. I still have to paint the mirrors and cold air intake horn but it's pretty well done other than that.
Hopefully..... Procharger next winter.....View attachment 1715133573 View attachment 1715133574 View attachment 1715133575 View attachment 1715133576 View attachment 1715133577
Great looking built, the picture of the motor - you have cleaned up the firewall , would you by chance have any pics of fab work on the firewall, thanks Mike

I guess I didn't really take too many pics of the fab work. I just cut out the heater blower motor area, the bulkhead area and the wiring channel on the fenderwell and filled them in with flat steel. It sucks cutting up a finished car but I love it now! First pic is obviously a before pic. LOL
