Hi everyone.

I want to relocate the oil filter on my 68 Valiant but all I ever see are kits for V8s. Will the V8 kit fit on the 6? Don't know where I'd put it otherwise but I can never not make a mess changing the stock oil filter.

Oh to have an Australian Slant 6, where the filter is out front. Of course if it weren't the steering shaft would go right through it.

Thanks everyone.

and if you had a Australian V8 you would not be wishing for that set-up.... the remote filter head is mounted to the top of the motor.
changing the filter empties anything not held back by the anti return flap all over your engine..
again these get swapped on cars that don't care about originality, to something similar to above

their engine block, oil filter adapter however is a nice piece, just the rest of the implementation that lets it down..

exhaust, filter, and steering box on RHD, all need the same space, and there isn't much because the Australian tunnel and floor pan is a copy of the USA 60s auto trans floor pan, and is still offset to your passenger side of the car to match the short axle side of the diff... No space up front so you can see why they did it.
not like they could spin the motor the other way and mirror image the axle and transmission for a RHD implementation....
would have cost too much :)

Several, well quite a few years ago, SlantSixDan posted for sale an Australian RHD oil pump with remote adapter for sale. I still have it and expect to use it in my 47. I will post some pics after I get organized this morning.

well looking at the pump in theory you could put hose tail fixings into the pre existing filter head
one will already be threaded the other..well if you were exceedingly careful with the tap.....

slant 6.... so lucky having external pump, mine is in the sump... anything wrong its really an engine out job

I like the idea of a remote mount so much, I did my own take on it. I had a similar setup on my race car and it worked very well. BB 440 has similar filter mount and made filter changes a mess. I bought a remote mount kit from Summit (I think) and here’s what I ended up with. Goes in the A100 in my profile pic.

I did the same exact thing on my engine. My setup differs only slightly from yours. Next I do it, I will mount my filter to the bell housing flange similar to yours.
