Old is when you identify with more things on that list than not.

me and the missus were talking about a friend of hers who is getting a divorce
she was telling me that they have kids who are in their teens and it just didnt make sense to me, because i know we all went to school together

then i realized, WE have kids who are teens, and i graduated high school a quarter of a century ago!

Time flies when you’re having fun

Time flies when you’re having fun
sure does

i wouldnt change a thing though
just the other day i had to go run some lumber up to a build up north, bout 2 hours from the house

i took the wife with me and on the way back we stopped for lunch together

it was no different then when we used to take road trips into germany or the time i drove her to paris
(except this time we didnt sleep in the car under the eifel tower)

I have grandkids that are teens.
I graduated HS a half a century ago.
I figured out a while ago, I'm closer to the big dirt nap than I am to my youngest son's birthday.
It goes faster every year.

i was talking to my dad the other day, and he mentioned how strange it is to be several years older than his dad ever got to be
time sure is an interesting phenomenon

Old starts
when you realize that you are the patriarch now.
Your parents are gone, and All your Uncles and Aunts are gone, and your older cousins are dying, it seems like your going to a funeral nearly every week.
Next;
every morsel of food piles on to your waist, you can't sleep, and your teeth all fell out this year.
Finally, you discover that your azzhole is starting to leak, and you're only 71...............

I take it as it comes. Me and my sister are the man standing in our family. Still hear the old man swearing at me. I guess it’s the way it’s supposed to go. I can still see my mother neading bread dough. Good memories

I mentioned to my step son, when he was just not long married and about 24 or so, almost 10 years ago....(yes he came when my wife was not really that young), that I was thankful I made up my mind to do the things in life that were my passions decades ago, and NOT be like so many and wait till they "retire" to do such all. I had seen people all my life wait and died before they ever did. Always an excuse.
Just about all my relatives and most of my closest friends have died or died a decade ago, most never drew one $ of SS they paid into all their lives.

The "kid" still has no idea of what I was saying.
He just smiles and shakes his head, yes. Too busy and always doing what his wife "demands".

As we age we get shorter the cartilage in our joints wear our discs in our backs shrink etc. so my question is Why does the floor keep getting further and further away?

4years ago I said enough is enough and dug the Dart out from a 39 hibernation. Put about 10 grand into it. Another one scratched off the bucket list

then howcome each time i renew my license i grow an inch ?

Well, I tell you unequivocally that 74 IS old. My get-up-and-go got up and went! I can still do the things I like, but after a few hours, it's time for a rest.

The last time you had to replace the shallow well water pump in your crawl space it took 2 hours including the trip to the hardware store to buy a pump and last weekend it took a day and a half to do the same job. 64 sucked but 74 really sucks.
