That truly will be a fun journeyTruly wonderful times for a stockish 318 indeed.
Dusters are very good (if not the) best track cars ever made by Mother-Mopar!
I wish I had done this back in the 80's instead of going 440 BigBlock.
It was easier (in the UK) to get a hot 440 than a hot smallblock.
So you miss out on all the fun of going faster and faster from the 17.00's down to the TENS!
All I thought about from day one was running a TEN.
Me and a Mopar-mate are going to do the 'Duster' thing soon and it will be FUN this time.
318 first, then 340, then 360, then 400, then 440, then 440 (low deck), then 512 (440 block).
One day a hemi and then a four speed too aka S & M.
Will we live long enough to achieve this mission lol
We have many engine that will ALL run good, like yours did.
Best of luck in all you do!View attachment 1716315063
You don't need a big block to get into the tens these days, any 318 , 340or 360 can be stroked and make big block power and you end up with a car that is not nose heavy good for straight lines only , my stroked 360 made 537 hp 549 tq depending on intake carb combo and was super streetable a grandmother could drive it if she could afford 6mpg at $8.00 a gallonTruly wonderful times for a stockish 318 indeed.

Got to love those W2'sDoesn't even require a stroker. My old duster, that my buddy has now, is a all steel, minus hood, full interior street car, still has heat and full factory interior, just ran 6.82 at 100.8 last Thursday night. Flat top, pump gas, 9.8 to 1 stock stroke 340, with mild ported W2s howards solid roller, and a tunnel ram, with two 650 carbs. Can drive it anywhere, any weather. Yeah, I built it, but its ALL 1970s parts and technology
Chrysler got those right....way before all the technology we have now.Got to love those W2's
