Did you bring it home in your lunch box?..
actually, I snuck most of it out in my buddies mo-beel home!
Did you bring it home in your lunch box?..
I hear yaYeah I mean it comes down to you want to get rid of it or clean your garage out,at that particular time if nobody wants it, do you hold on to it for a year and try again to sell it? most don't they are trying to move the stuff...
That's okay GM wouldn't miss the parts...actually, I snuck most of it out in my buddies mo-beel home!
They make nice heavy duty Drift punches for BFHes. Just sayin ! Cut down to the length you need.I hear ya
I have a set of torsion bars in my shop that I think I am going to turn them in to tomato stakes.

I always ask the post office to measure it and put the numbers in with a quote. Even write numbers, and weight on the box. I had em one time not do that and just weigh it, then when I brought it back, they said it's more money because of the box size being oversized. I learned after that mistake to always have em do this.Last week I have 7 WOMs lack 1 from being 2 full sets. $150 plus shipping to Ca.. I box it take it to post office, she measures and weighs it, $29. Even writes it on the box . I get the guys $179 and take it back, same idiot weighs and measures again, and says' "Sorry, but it is oversize" USPO can not ship this!" WTF??? OK she is just some kind of stupid or totally incompetent?.
SO I make 60 mi trip other direction to a PostIt store, all I can do. They charge me, $155.21 I ask WTF and all I get is it goes to Ca, that is expensive. So I ask don't YOU guys make $$$ doing all this for Fed X!? WTF anyway, He says oh no. Yea right.
So I am wondering if I just got screwed BAD> I call FedX and tell my story and find their charges would be $55. I call another store in another town that handles Fed X etc and they give me a price of $132. Still crazy! I cleared $25 after 100 mi. on the road! So anyway I sent it own from the PostIt store, and the dude got it and I told him the whole sordid deal. He says, thank you.
I said, you are welcome.
It if u sold it cheaper today that would more money than u had yesterday and would help someone out that maybe doesn’t have much to spend. And they may even be grateful. I cannot believe someone would throw good parts away instead of helping someone else out. And collecting a few bucks at least. I suppose if u don’t need the money but I think most guys here do. KimI've GIVEN away a lot of stuff in the past year or two. When I put up a GOOD FULLY FUNCTIONAL 6 Valiant/Barracuda instrument cluster and kept lowering the price to 100 shipped and everybody wanted it for nuthin, that pissed me off to the point I'll not sell anything on here anymore. In fact, I just pitched that cluster in with the garbage today. It's in the back of the truck waitin to go to the dump tomorrow.....so your dilemma works both ways.
It can be a pain. I like small items that can be sent in a USPS box. Easier to estimate or include shipping. Speaking of which. I need to look around for my next items. I have been buying a nice bottle of bourbon with my sales. LOLSelling sometimes gets pretty tiring. If it didnt help me keep the hobby going for myself since I am not independently wealthy, then I wouldent bother doing it.
You are top notch in my book, thanks for the good deal on the 67 Barracuda tail lights, could only find 68 30 years ago. lolSo many times I have taken the time to box up parts, and get shipping quotes, then the prospective buyers flake out on me and disappear. I have 2 boxes in my trunk right now for that reason. Will unload and put them back on my sales parts shelf. Running around like that costs money and time too. When I no longer need parts for projects, I'm gonna do a mega unload of it all and be done with it.
You must have the same lady I deal with here, Fat , blonde and talks like a mouse with an attitude !Last week I have 7 WOMs lack 1 from being 2 full sets. $150 plus shipping to Ca.. I do that and she tells me "Who gave you that quote, They didn't measure it correctly " And I tell her, She did. And she says , well its this much today. When I get a quote from post office they print it for me. It has dimensions and weight right on it. If buyer wants it I take pkg back in with quote and we are good to go.
Same here Steve. What I don’t really get is some members want the part, I estimate it as $40.00-$50.00 to ship. But I tell them I’ll get an actual quote. They say ok. I get the quote, it’s $44.00. Some cases less than the $40.00 I estimated. That’s too much. WTF. I have 20 boxes of parts with the persons name and address on them. Some days I feel like posting them for everybody to see. I just won’t sell to them ever. KimWhen I get a quote from post office they print it for me. It has dimensions and weight right on it. Who the hell does that? When I want something I buy it. Who gives a **** what it costs to ship. I get that shipping something freakishly large or heavy might cause some issues, but most average size things cost between $30 and $60 (or so I've found).Same here Steve.
