I'm sick of part suppliers giving me false shipping dates to get my order. My roller cam. Ships in 4 weeks, its been 8+. Tires. Ships next day, been 3 weeks. Pushrods, 2days, been a week+. Very frustrating. No emails or anything.

You're preachin to the choir buddy. But I agree.....what are our options?

I think the complaint is that the estimated ship dates are not even close and the companies probably know it... but want his money so are using best case estimates. If he knew it was 8 weeks to ship and not 4 weeks he might still buy the item because that may be the only source of what he is after, but he will at least not be as frustrated if it’s really 9 weeks until it ships... because that is only a 1 week difference and not a month...

Yes estimated ship dates are estimated but Covid has been around for a year.... these companies should have plenty of data from restocking supply lead times to manufacturing lead times, etc to be able to adjust their ship date estimates to more accurately reflect this new normal of extended lead times...

And while we all understand this is the new normal we also understand that every supplier is listing on their websites “Due to Covid lead times are longer” it would be understandable if they were more stand up about it and said “Could be up to or exceeding 12 weeks to ship at time of order” instead of sticking arbitrary and currently unachievable yet still believable ship dates based on what they know...

Yeah I can read. But again, what are our options? If you ask and they tell you something and it's a lie, what do you do? Order from somebody else that does the same thing?

Stripped threads on the secondary adjuster, locked like fort Knox. Gouged as well.
To boot..it was the last one, figures.
Ship date of September 9th.
Returned. Going somewhere else now.

Much like this QFT 450 my friend gave me. He'd never been in it, but couldn't get it to run right. Bought it new from Summit. I took the float bowls off inspecting it and the secondary float had been cut as if to clear the rear jets. Best we can figure it was a return and got resold. Anyway I got it figured out so all is well. Sorry you're havin troubles. It sucks. Seems not only quantity is falling but quality as well.

I also see the trend of places drop shipping instead of carrying inventory themselves. Even bigger operations like Summit seem to be doing it more then they use to. When that is the case, they are relying on manufactures/other warehouses to have the correct inventory reported to them. So it is easy to see when everyone is pulling from the same place, how inventory can disappear quickly.

Not car related but ordered a control display for an A/C unit. 10 in stock. Overnight shipping. Just came to work and got an email warehouse error 0 in stock . Back to the drawing board :BangHead:

Well , I got my new TTI headers exactly as promised by Buchilion performance<(sp)--7 weeks.
Already got them hung ''no small mater'' , got out from under the car , grabbed a cold bottle of water , looked over at the bench , starter setting on it !
I was so intent on trying to get the drivers side on I -------------got mad and came in and took a shower !--lol

Ordered a stainless cat back one into two for my '02 Dodge Ram from Gibson's. Originally $1,000 reduced to $558. Took 3 weeks. If it weren't for the savings I'd be annoyed. Ordered a car cover from the local VW dealer for my ladies turbo VDub, its been a month so far. Sign of the times?

I ordered (and paid for) a complete exhaust system from Waldrons. Spoke with the owners wife Ruth personally who told me right up front it will be an 8 to 12 week lead time and more if I wanted it in stainless. She explained it’s a problem with the suppliers of material. Good thing I am in no big hurry.

Called Legendary to see if the seat cover prices have gone up due to the limited supply line for soft products, the first thing the salesperson told me was it would be 27 weeks before they could manufacture one, didn’t even have to ask.

I ordered a MCX Rattler 5.56 on Jan 15 and the ship date was Jan 30. I said to myself, that's cool, I can wait a few weeks. When Jan 30 came I checked the website for my order status. I had changed my delivery date to Feb 18!! On Feb 18 I checked again, it had changed to Mar 10. It continued like this until late May when it finally shipped. Five months and I finally got my gun!!! Ammo works the same way. Lucky for me I had ordered the suppressor way in advance!:mob::soapbox::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Exactly. Had a company suddenly put a hood I wanted on sale. Bought the hood and then a few days later found they sent me an email into my spam file that stated hood on backorder for 8-12 weeks. Cancelled order. Just called manufacturer after 10 weeks and they told me another 8 weeks. Bet it'll be sometime in the Fall before available.

I'm afraid it's getting to the point that if you want something tomorrow, you should have ordered it two months ago.

Things are tough out there. I sent a part to a guy across the way from me...Arkansas to Tennessee...USPS Priority mail. The box was 35"X12"X12", took nearly two months to get there. It showed up the day after I received a claim check in the mail, that I sent back to them.

We're feeling it at my work with $2.4 million in past dues because lack of materials and other plants short staffed.
