:thankyou:

That's awesome oldschool stuff!!! Real cool pics - priceless! No sure grip?B-)
Thank you...No "sure grip." The rear end in my car at the time, was my own installation. I can't remember what the gear ratio was (either a 3:73 0r a 3:91) It was a 8 3/4 rear end that I modified myself, from a circa 61-62 Dodge Station Wagon. I can't remember how many 7 1/4's I tore up before I did the mod. The clutch was still a weak link.

Right before (1981) the black '66 went in for paint (still the paint job the car was wearing when LilCuda sold it a couple of years ago)...and a pic from a few years ago.

Your car and videos are way too awesome...I would of never thought there was that much "Detroit Mopar Iron" over there. Just Awesome.

Thanks, I'm just capturing the fun we have with these cars:D And classic cars need cool oldschool music. Yeah, the number increases, but in Austria we had also a Chrysler-dealership: F.M.Tarbuk. They sold my Barracuda in 1965 and also the '71 H-code Duster and the '66 Valiant Station Wagon 273 4speed. So there is also a Mopar tradition here.

Well, sounds cool. I like the fact, that the car had no sure grip! My fish has the original 7 1/4, but my Dart has the 8 3/4 with a 3.23 (matching numbers). Did you also tune up the engine? Your fish looks so mean at the pics. Looks like he wants to jump on his prey:D

What's your plans?
I've just about disassemble it to about 75%, I'm going to start on a piece at a time...3 new floor pans are they only "real" major repair, (it set on flat tires for 27 years) the rest of the body is solid. We brought it our (business) shop, I got it running and drove it home to my shop. The current plan is to take it back to the original number's. Everything is original, build sheet and all. The only change that has been made so far is the 14" rally wheels. I have since obtained another 65 Barracuda (273, 3 speed) that I will probably "hot rod." Bottom line? I better get cracking, as I'm not getting any younger. :p

Lordoffrisco,
Interesting, my 66 Formula S was also factory delivered without the sure-grip in a 3.23 open. But, tracked down for $75 a mostly complete 7 1/4 sure-grip w/3.55's. Hope to swap b4 spring. Just seems wrong to not have a SG in there.

I gotta say...I was never really a fan of the first generation Barracuda. .....I thought they were ugly...

But I've completely changed my mind!
I would love to own one! The lines are classic and beautiful.

This picture I stole from this thread is awesome and actually really reminds me of my '68.....
