Sorry if you have already seen me post this, I know a lot of you go to the same internet site as I do.

For those that don't, below is a link to some pictures we just took of our pistol grip installed. Anybody else know of somebody running the pistol grip with the a-body console? Just wondering if I'm the only one.

Hope you like!!

Looks good. Does it hit the dash? Where did you get it from, I am thinking of putting one in my 66 Dart, no console.

What year is your car?

It fits perfect thanks to the custom bracket. The shifter is the 71-74 non-console B-body, which will work without a custom bracket for a non-console A-body car. We had to create a bracket so it would fit with the console.

www.harmsauto.com does make a shifter for the A-bodies w/console that will most likely fit better than the B-body unit we got, but it is a bit more expensive.

This place also lists ones for A-bodies, but I don't know anything about them:

To answer the other question, the car is a 66 Barracuda. There is more info about the car through-out the same website if you dig. Of course the website could always use more updating.

looked at your website. very cool resto. Question. Did you clean and polish your steering gear box? What did you do to get it that way? That must have been a number of hours. Did you pay someone to do the powdercoating?

Shifter looks great with the console. I will be installing one in my 66 Valiant real soon. The B-body non-console shifter fits fine, plus it looks cool!!

Yep - we polished out the gear box. It was just a lot of sanding and then some more sanding. You just have to get finer and finer until you eventually can use polishing compound to buff it out. We also did parts of the engine, as you can see in the below picture.

We got lucky on the powder coating, we took our freshly sandblasted parts down to a local company that doesn't do any public work. They did all the parts for $100 cause it was so easy for them to just throw them in with the other stuff. We didn't have much choice of colors, but I kinda like the grey. Ironically it cost more to sandblast the stuff.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking at another site for one. He's a link to it. I am thinking more of the one for the e body.

Those are the same ones that most places sell, they are actually manufactured by Hurst and can be bought at many places. Part #PG611 is the one I have in my car. Any of the ones that actually have 'Hurst' engraved are these same units, since all the others places like Harms can't legally engrave 'Hurst' into their product.

I would worry that the E-body unit would not sit high enough to be comfortable.
