Hi i am looking at buying from Bergman in NY a power steering kit for a 1967 Dodge Dart with a 383. They seem to think that all A body 72 and earlier had a 1.125” diameter spline pitman shaft. I was always told the 1967 was a seperate year and diffrent style than 68 to 76.
Can anyone confirm that rather than me pull it off the car. Last has anyone use one of the new Bergman power steering kits. I think they are a compact jeep style box modified.

Hi would it be possible the arm itself is a diffrent style on a 67 Dart compared to the 68 to 72 style ?

the idler arm IS different and expensive for 67, it was a weak/poor design, They changed it in 68. I do not know of a pitman arm difference. I just looked 67 parts manual val/cuda/dart list one pitman arm only. 67 part number 2535 079.

69 manual does list a different a-body pitman arm for 383.
Std - 3004 807
w/383 - 3004 809

Idler arm mount on the K member was the difference. You can mod the K to take a later idler. I ended up going to a later spool mount K

Pitman--no difference
