Lots of research and this thread are getting me new wheels and tires. Going with 15" rims for the better tire choices.
Arrived home from the shop that installed all my front end rebuild parts and front end alignment to find my '72 factory black rims looked different than before (at least the one installed on the passenger side-see foto two).

Sure looks like it. Can't see a valve stem and can't see the bumps for the dogdish hubcaps either. They put in on backwards????
Backwards is right and the valve stem wore down after rubbing on the caliper for the 5 or so miles driving home. What could happen next, Armageddon, the end of the world?
If you want something done right (and the first time) you have to do it yourself.
Did anyone notice the balance weights on the rim in post #883 (second foto)? Is that even possible to balance a tire with weights in those positions and being different size weights as well?
The guys at the shop did that? Did they fix the front suspension too? Better check everything else...?Arrived home from the shop that installed all my front end rebuild parts and front end alignment to find my '72 factory black rims looked different than before (at least the one installed on the passenger side-see foto two).

That looks killer. What backspacing/offset did you go with? Loving the stance. Finally got my “new to me” wheels mounted up today. 17x10 275/40 in the rear, 17x8 255/40 in the front

LOL I don't know what to say, because I would have nothing nice to say to the shop that did the work. They put in on backwards????
You should be worried. Did the they tighten all the parts ?Arrived home from the shop that installed all my front end rebuild parts and front end alignment to find my '72 factory black rims looked different than before (at least the one installed on the passenger side-see foto two).
