Powersteering Pump

According to some reading on different sites Bouchillion sells a fitting with a pressure reducer for rack and pinion.

The part number is: BPE61F608 but no picture is shown. If you buy one take a few pics, I'd like to see what it is.

Riddler

What is the price on that? Any idea? I couldn't find it online.

That part does not reduce pressure, it's just an adapter to -6 AN.

Here is a good article on the Heidts pressure valve.

Does anyone know anyplace that could turn down the pressure on these pumps?

This F#$%^& **** is driving me crazy. Nobody has a pump for the Hemi that puts out the right pressure. Nobody can work on the pump because it is some kind of stupid Japanese pump. So that means the only solution is to put a band-aid on it by using the Heidts valve which will add an additional $200 to an already ridiculous amount of money just for power steering. Sorry for the rant, but this **** is getting old......:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Tin, get a type 2 pump from hotrodlane.cc or elsewhere, they come with/without a res. and only need to enlarge the 3 mounting holes just a smidge to mount to the hemi....ask me how I know, lol!! Anyways, that's what I'm using along with a remote mounted res. and it works just fine.

Type 2 pump with factory pulley.....must hone the id to fit the pump.

Type 2 pump with factory pulley.....must hone the id to fit the pump.

Thanks Zack, only one problem, I don't have the truck motor, I have the car. The pumps from S&P are $500.

Thanks a bunch Zack. I have been considering going to a GM type 2 pump, but the problem lies in the orientation. The bolt holes on the head are at a 45deg. angle as opposed to 90deg for the gm pump. (I want a pump with attached reservoir). The only way to make that happen would be to make an interface plate to go between the pump and the head to re-orient the bolt pattern. The only way this would work is if the type 2 is physically thinner than the Toyoda to accommodate the plate. If you have a type 2 could you measure the thickness for me?

I'll get that measurement for ya. Since the type 2 pump would need to have an adapter plate, your golden.....I mean, the pulley has to be honed to fit the pump drive snout and that will allow some adjustment. But I did not have to do that, just enlarge the holes a tad. Can you post a pic of where the pump mounts to the car 5.7? This will give me a better idea of how it mounts.

The pump measures a tad over 1.5 inches. Hope this helps.

Thanks Zack, as soon as I get my other pump back, I can see if that will work. Check the pic's I posted earlier in this thread.
