Keep the prayers coming. It sounds like Keith is doing a bit better. Here's a update from Kim.
Thank you all for your prayers. I believe in the power of prayer and so does Keith. A quick update: he is stable/holding steady now. His lab work shows the antibiotics are helping the bacterial infection-praise God! He didn’t have any fever overnight, a first in a long while and also a good sign. He is still on quite a bit of oxygen but tolerating it well with fewer dips in his oxygen levels and the nurses tell me he “looks good” right now. (He always looks good to me). I asked keith to tell his nurses that his wife is a pain in the *** so that it would seem normal when I call for updates often. They have all been so kind and reassuring and honest with this worried wife. Even at 2 am when I call. To my nurse friends on the proning debate: 6’4 in a little bed, he says no go. He said, I’m sorry babe but I’m not!!!! laying on my stomach in this bed! It’s really good to have my stubborn man showing his colors and acting like himself again. Thankfully his nurse tells me that he is tolerating not having to prone to breathe right now so We are going to just let that battle alone for a while as long as he is maintaining or improving. Your well wishes mean the world to us and are so overwhelming. Keith has been reading messages even if he hasn’t responded. I was going to leave him a little encouraging voicemail but I guess his mailbox is full. It’s been an emotional battle as well as a physical one and it’s a lot to take in to have all your friends and family sending you their love and prayers at the same time. We all love the big guy who gives the best hugs in the world. He’s the first one to help someone out and he prays every day for the people in his life. I’m certain this man of faith has prayed for each of you over the years. I can see Gods hands working so hard to heal him and answering our prayers. We ask for continued prayers for his healing as this can be a long slow process they tell me. I also ask for your to include a few prayers for all the other people going through this. I prayed again for a long time last night for the doctors and nurses who fight this battle every day. Keith says his care team has been phenomenal and its good to see people still being so caring when they are probably a little burnt out by it all. Keith is usually pretty private about things like this but I wanted to get an update out to everyone and this seemed like the easiest way. Also, I’m pretty open book generally about life and just maybe it’s one of the things Keith loves about me. I’m sometimes as feisty and stubborn as he is and this is one time it will serve us both well. All our love to each of you. Stay well and God bless all of our prayer warriors.
(This seemed like a good set of pictures to add. May he be back to doing the things he loves and burning through the tires quickly as soon as he’s done burning through this virus.).
