I adjusted my clutch pedal travel, how much free play should

have on pedal. I have it about a 1/4 inch. The other problem is

this tingling rattle, coming from the clutch, it sounds like the

springs on the pressure plate. I checked them and they all spin

freely. Is this right?? Or, do I need to replace the clutch.

Thanks, guys!!!!

Your clutch release bearing (throw out bearing) will make a rattling noise when the bearings or cage are bad and are saying 'replace me". :evil2:

If you have anywhere from 1/4-3/4 of a inch of play, depending on the way you like your pedal would be normal. Now does the noise go and come if you press the pedal all the way to the floor?Does it appear only on light pressure?Does the noise get more noticable with RPM or just at idle.Does it happen in gear or in neutral? Is the linkage really loose and every thing in line properly, mrmopartech

I replaced the throw-out bearing, last summer but not the PP and
clutch disc. The noise is constant whether the clutch is engaged
or disengaged. I checked all the linkage and it is all tight.
I have a feeling that I need to replace everything, I crawled
under neath , while running and it seems to be coming from the
clutch. Should the throw-out bearing spin when it rides on the
pressure plate fingers, or spin only when the clutch is disengaged.
Before I adjusted the pedal the bearing was not spinning at all.
But I did'nt drive it very far . I can deal with the noise but
I sure would like to fix it, I can replace everything, and be
done with it, but the clutch works great and I hate to replace
parts if they don't need it.

The throw out bearing should only spin when it comes in contact with the pressure plate fingers ie. when you depress the clutch peddle.

You might have a pressure plate with "rollers". These are centrifugal weights that rattle around at lower RPM and add pressure higher.
