Project Riddler's Ride - 1976 Plymouth Duster

-
@JayinMI yeah I'll be at 10 years when I'm finally done. Still have stereo to do but have to read about how to do it. I'm at a loss on even how to begin.

@Demon B Leavin yeah I drove it around the block and the *** end kicks out so fast. Might have to not use 1st gear.

I just need time to get it finished and work out the bugs.

I like it. Looks great. Can you see the RH fender mounted turn signal past the scoop? Asking because i have the same scoop for my sons 69 barracuda. And wanted to put those on it. So i was wondering if you could see the fender mounted flasher on the RH fender

Hi, car looks and sounds fantastic. A lot of time, a lot of work, you should be proud. What is the paint colour? It looks classy.

I’ve been working away at killing those small bugs. Still have a few wiring issues. Speedo isn’t working but might just need time to acquire a gps signal. Fuel gauge is off...

Anyway I plated it today, and then took it for a very small ride around the block. She goes hard. Just barely hit the gas and spins the rear tires free.

Sure looks good Riddler !!!

I did not realize you where that short. What pedal extensions do you use. If not maybe that is why why your spining the tires off that beast.

Still plugging away at the car. Interior is all but completed, still lots of bugs. Some very small wiring issues.

Car drives well but again a few bugs. Front tires rub on a bolt when turning, looks to be easy fix.

Next up I'll be designing and completing the trunk audio setup.

My paint guy came and stole the car as he forgot to put seam sealer in the pinch welds..

Looks good, but need to see it in person.

I’m sure you covered this at one point but what are those seats out of?

There not out of anything. They are Corbeau TRS seats with the Corbeau Duster brackets. I've recovered them to meet my needs.

Riddler
Are they comfortable for long rides?

They are to me. I'm 6' and 225lbs. and I find them very comfortable. But other have not in the past.

Riddler
Nice I’m right about that size as well. I’d ordered a set from jegs of their challenger style seats but the padding is thin as heck and just too tight for me.

Ok so last update showed me prepping for a car show. I went to an indoor show and had a blast. I'm truly in my element at car shows. Here's some picture from the show.

I took home an award. It was chosen by the London Auto Modifiers Car Club (they put on the show) for a memorial for one of their club members. It's the 2019 Maurice Cassidy Memorial Trophy. I hope I honoured him well.

I've still got some things I need to do and some bugs to work out. I'd like to raise the front coilovers about 1/2" just to give me some more room over bumps. The rears could come down about 1/2", but I'll leave it until I do the fronts. The trunk setup is coming along and I have to relocate the gas struts to the inner wheel wells so that I can complete the false wall.

Great car. Looks awesome I think we started our swaps about the same time. You have done a fantastic job on that car. Nice craftsmanship.

Thank you guys. I would not of been able to do this without your words of encouragement and the help I’ve gotten along the way.

I’m in the hunt for another 75/76 grill. Gonna cut it up and use the grill part for inside the scoop.

Found some time over the weekend. Moved my trunk struts and made them stronger. Still thinking I’ll have to make a bracket for the bottom mount as there only into sheet metal.

After I got the struts moved back under the package tray I could continue with the trunk closeout panels.

Just have to fine tune these panels, cut them out of fiberboard and get them wrapped. I'm planning on using magnets to keep them attached at the top and bottom. I've also got Velcro handy if need be.

Somewhere in there I’ll get the amps mounted and sub installed.
