Putting pistons in my 383. Seeing trouble with rod bearing

If it sticks out past the inside flat face of the rod, and it does, it's WRONG. I've never seen such stupidity in all my life.
 
Here is a used 360 rod and bearings with the same misalignment as your 383 bearings. Ran that way for a long long time.

Still not protruding out beyond the rod bevel.

Believe you are going to be A-OK

Can do a final check on that 383 rod and bearing to the crank with plasti-gauge for the final OK, making sure the oil film is correct.

I finally got pictures of my old 383 rods with the bearings I ran years ago. The old bearings from back then lined up better. But again, as long as they clear everything and have proper bearing clearance it should be fine. Your eyes are on it there, so make sure it clears.
